We tried the restaurant only. Everything met or exceeded our high expectations: the setting, the service, the menu, the presentation and the price. The charming little resort town of Bagnoles has many very good restaurants, this one is somewhere near the very top of the list.

We stayed here on our way back to UK from our holiday in France. Good comfy rooms (no a/c) but the food was the star attraction! Good weather permitted so we ate outside and we were treated to some wonderful food imaginatively presented. The highlight was a Prawn Thai Green Curry with black rice which was divine. If you're looking... More

We nearly always get a ferry that gets us in to France (Caen) at 15.15 local time, which is a bit late for picking an hotel at random in popular locations in the middle of school holidays, so Sue gets to pick the first stop. Mostly she does that by looking for the green shaded areas on the Michelin map... More

We used this hotel as a one night stop over in Bagnoles-de-l'Orne and with our classic car it was great that they had a car park that was closed at night even if it was a little tight with space - actually not a problem, as when we asked if we could park the car a bit further down the... More

The hotel was newly refurbished "3 years", very nice , large rooms , nice breakfast , lovely hotel with great character , nice people to deal with . The restaurant offers local dishes . The hotel is located near the town centre opposite to the tourist office . The forest walk starts right there . While you are in Bagnoles... More

We have a little gite near Bagnoles so thought we were acquainted with all the restaurants but decided to try this one as the dining room was so tastefully decorated. It may not be white gloved service but the food was beautifully cooked and presented. A visual feast in fact. My husband had beautifully prepared vegetables. Green and yellow courgettes... More

We arrive around two o'clock but they accept us . Good point . Dining room seems to be freshly renovated . Staff (only two persons , but it was enough for 30 guests) charming , fast and very efficient. Menu short , simple but some research and imagination . Quality was up to the competition in town where we find... More

As other trip advisors have noted, the Hotel Le Normandie's website does NOT accurately reflect the decrepit condition of the hotel. After checking out the "standard" room, which was a hellhole that would not meet anyone's "standards," I paid to upgrade to a "superior" room. Yes it was a large room, but in poor condition (see photos). Broken furniture, stained... More

We booked this in advance and asked for a specific "superior" room that we had stayed in before. When we arrived we were told that particular room was unavailable and that we had been upgraded to the "junior suite" at no extra cost. Good start!! This was massive and well-appointed. The staff were without exception friendly and helpful, and the... More

We were delighted with this hotel, which would appear to have been refurbished recently. From beginning to the end of our three-day stay the staff were friendly and most helpful. The food was excellent, and the room (in the round tower, overlooking the street) well decorated, comfortable, and clean. And free wireless broadband connection in the bedroom.
