Stayed here in passing. It is what is is room-wise. The Campaniles are all the same, not at all inspiring but clean. The main differences between the Campaniles is in the restaurant which, of course, is dependant on the chef. We struck lucky this time and the hors d'oeuvres buffet was excellent. One of the tricks with Campanile is to... More

We stayed here for two nights, as it is close to the town centre, approximately a mile and a half away. The rooms are basic, we had twin beds, and the whole complex is reminiscent of an American motel. The accommodation block is a short walk from reception that comprises the dining room and meeting room. It is literally across... More

Totally adequate for a night, clean, basic rooms, food is satisfying, actually made a pleasant change from the old, rural country hotels we had been staying in and it is not in the city so it's easy to drive to and it is on the road to Bayeux, so you hop out of your car, have a peaceful night's rest,... An old motel, but rooms are clean and basic. This is a night stop location, not for holidaying. Fod in the restaurant was surprisingly good, after reading the previous reports I dreaded it. Only as our baby was sleeping in the room did we venture down. My wife loved the deserts, that in its self speaks volumes as to the... More

First time we've stayed in a Campanile - nothing to complain about at all - it was squeaky clean, functional, accessible and the staff were very pleasant. However, I did find it expensive for what it was (75 euros for the room), and it's really on a roundabout on the road from Vire to Caen! But that's the Campanile concept... More

Quite surprised when we got there to find it a motel but could not fault it for cleanliness and fit for our Thought the restaurant a little expensive and from previous reviews decided to give it a miss as it seemed more like a motorway service station. Liked the tea and coffee making facilities in the room as it's a... More

Rooms smallish but clean. Pleasant desk staff. Breakfast adequate but early in the morning that first cup of coffee is a big attraction. Convenient to all that we wanted to see near Vire and only about 45 minutes from the beaches.

We use the Campanile restuarants when we travel as you can usually get a good meal until this time !! The evening entree buffet was very poor with a lot of the dishes missing at 8 ish and the quality very poor as well .We opted for a steak and again it was very badly cooked and tough as boot's.Reading... This hotel is typical of Campanile, clean, private rooms in a neat garden location on the edge of the town. It is ideal for the traveller heady to or from the northern French ports of Cherbourg and Caen. Bayeux with its tapestry is to the north and the town of Villedieu les Poelles (famous for its copper pans and bells)... More

Previous reviews, some of them years old have severly criticised the hotel. It is a cheap chain hotel in a small town in France and it does exactly what it says on the box. Good, clean, comfortable accomodation at a reasonable price. You want 5 star and Michelin cuisine go to Paris. I booked online and got a twin room... More
