The magic of Mont St. Michel starts as you first view the Abbey from the causeway, as it completely dominates the horizon, like some ancient sky scraper, poised between the ocean and the sky. We chose to stay overnight in one of the fisherman's cottages in the Hotel Auberge Saint- Pierre. While staying on the Mont is predictably more expensive... More

Our experience in this hotel was pretty much optimal. We arrived with no trouble in early afternoon, room was ready, staff was very friendly. The house dates to the 16th century and as one would expect, it's mainly vertical with lots of stairs, but it wasn't a big problem: that's what Mont Saint Michel is all about, after all. The... Great place, great location, LOTS of stairs, cobblestones, incline walking paths. Do not plan for anyone not 110% physically healthy to be responsible for carrying anything more than a purse. We had one small carryon bag and one small carryon roller bag, and it was still more than convenient. Room was small but comfortable. Toilet is not in the bathroom,... More

Did a lot of looking to find a nice place to stay on the island, and this place seemed to have the nicest rooms, but keeping a medieval touch. We weren't dissapointed. Rooms are cozy, comfortable, and good sonic insulation. We had the impression we were alone in the hotel, but it was practically full. Beautiful view of the abby... More

My mom and I stayed one night on Mont Saint Michel. We had to leave our giant suitcase in the main building of the hotel because it would have been hard to roll the suitcase on the cobbled streets of Mont Saint Michel. The storage room for the suitcase in the main building is down a narrow flight of stairs... More

We had a lovely evening on MOnt St Michel experiencing it without masses of tourists is a gem. My children liked exploring the ramparts and we had really hot weather for October. The hotel has nice pleasant rooms but the family rooms have no view. You are paying for where you are rather than the room. The hotel catered quite... More

To stay on Mont St Michel is very special and also very expensive, but what we were paying for was the location and not the room. We were in the main building on the second floor with a view of the ramparts. The room was small with the roof sloping down. Toilet was in a small room with sloped ceiling... More

We visited Mont St. Michel just a few nights ago and stayed here for one night. We were very glad to have decided to stay on the Mont rather than the mainland, as it is a very different experience at night, you can wander around the lanes which are very quiet after most of the visitors have gone for the... Having done a lot of research on all hotels available on MSM, it was apparent that this was the better choice among all available. It was as expected: rooms have been renovated and are nice and very clean. Compact shower cabin with good rain shower head. Toilet separate from bathroom; ours had a very low sloping ceiling which can be... More

I love the way this hotel is effectively rooms in a series of the old buildings, and they have been very well done. I turned up around 6.30pm at night having spotted the abbey from the motorway. I had no idea how much it would be and can understand why it is expensive at times. I was very fortunate this... More
