We thoroughly enjoyed our room. It was a triple room in the annex. Long climb with bags but worth it. Great view of the bay, nice-sized room with a large, updated bathroom. The location is just inside the wall of the town on Mont Ste. Michel. So glad we opted to stay here so we could wander in the evening.... More

I had read that the Mont is extremely busy so I thought it would be best to stay so we could take our time and see it all. We booked at La Mere Poulard and it really is very very over priced for a tired 3 star hotel. We booked in and then went walking, toured the abbey and explored... More

We got a good deal for 3 adults through an online reservation site. Call the hotel before arrival for the parking code for the special lot that is very close to the shuttle bus stop. Then follow the signs for Handicapped parking to get to the special lot. The hotel is located immediately upon entering Mont St. Michel. Room was... More

This beautiful hotel is located in one of the most magical places in the world so I was willing to forgo some of the modern comforts (e.g. air conditioning). Staying for the experience and a room with a view was worth the price for me

Do some research BEFORE you stay at Mont Saint-Michel. There are no lifts and virtually everything is vertical. Lots of stairs and steep walkways. The one thing I found incredibly frustrating is the parking situation. Obtain the parking procedure from the property before arriving!!! I found it frustrating beyond belief. You have to park in a designated numbered lot and... More

The hotel is charming and beautiful, but somewhat worn. The rooms are rustic without air conditioning and without screens on windows so bugs and birds fly in. There was no wifi, while all other chateaus had free wifi. The shampoo and shower gel were the same liquid soap that came out of a dispenser. It felt like staying in a... More

My daughter was traveling alone in France and had a confirmed reservation at this hotel. She said she would email me when she arrived. I became concerned when I didn't hear from her. Although the hotel website indicated they have free wifi in public areas, it didn't work. (I later found out that she sent three emails, which languished in... More

You have to remember that this is one of the most amazing places to stay in the world. The hotel therefore caters for the short term vacation and tour of the Mont. Our room had a lovely large window which enabled us to stay cool and rest from the walking that is required of the Mont. The staff were not... More

La Mere Poulard is THe place to stay if you plan to visit Mt. St. Michel. Photos of world dignitaries who stayed there and who ate their famous omelets are all over the walls of the corridors: I found one dated 1908. For those of you history buffs, WWII brought to La Mere Poulard the likes of Then General Eisenhower,... More

The hotel is pretty much at the foot of the Mont. Note that there is no elevator in the hotel so you will have to carry you luggage to your floor so travel light. We stayed in a standard double room (4th fl.) which was quite spacious. The interior of the room was bit worn but the room was clean.... More
