We stayed in the 'Chateau' in a so called deluxe room which smelt overwhelmingly musty & damp, in fact the whole place smelt like this. The surrounding area was not particularly pretty and the Chateau and other buildings were run down and in need of investment. I would strongly suggest that the owners stop taking peoples money and start updating... More

When one has arrived!!! Room number 9 is just splendid with high ceilings, 4 sets of double windows beautifully draped in lush fabric, a king size bed, gorgeous contemporary bathroom with bath, and separate loo. The views from the windows are stunning looking over the grounds to the rear of the chateau. Magnificent trees watch over the parkland in majestic... More

Although we missed the hotel entrance a few times before we finally found it, the location was absolutely perfect. Set in large grounds which include mature woodland as well as open lawns, this was a wonderfully peaceful setting, interrupted only by birdsong. We received a warm welcome from the staff at the reception desk and they were always helpful and... More

Arriving at the chateau you have to drive through a housing estate, thought it was a lot closer to the town which would have been better as there is no bar, coffee/tea lounge in the hotel. We stayed in the worst part of the hotel, the annex at the back, thought we had arrived at a concentration camp! The bunkers... More

My husband booked this chateau for our wedding anniversary. We stayed in one of the top floor rooms of the Orangerie. Unfortunately the rooms in the chateau were rather expensive for our budget. My husband did ask if there was the possibility of an upgrade but only one night was available for an extra £100!! We decided our room in... More

This was last minute booking and having read some of the reviews was a little apprehensive but there was no need. We received a warm welcome, our room was comfortable and clean with views over the rear grounds, the room was a prestigious room, hence nice and large all was fine other than the ensuite was on a different level... After one of the group booking this hotel some time ago and reading the reviews the night before we were somewhat cautious about even arriving, in fact if we had gone with the prior reports we would have gone to the local IBIS. we arrived around 6pm, the car park was full and a wedding reception was in progress. still... Having read the trip advisor reviews we started with little expectations. However what you pay for is what you get! We had a delux arrangement of € 175 per night/couple half board. Room was good, nice flatscreen, and spacious, a bit stuffy. Breakfast was very good and dinner excellent, with the winelist a bit expensive.

A crumbling Chateau, not sure how it got it's star ratings, maybe there were holes in the roof, friendly reception and breakfast staff, but that's where it ends. Facilities are tired though the room was clean, nothing special, limited access to food and drink, miles away from any where. Not sure why they employ the restaurant manager, the most uncooperative... More

This IS an old chateau/mansion. Bear that in mind. If you don't fancy that type of accommodation - skip it. If you do like some old time style and patina, by all means you can stay here - and be quite happy too! Yes, it's a bit old and worn down, but it still has the grandure of an upper... More
