.Discovered almost 20 years ago first of all as just a "Five Star" restaurant serving the most beautiful food you could treat yourself to! Now for some years offering accommodation with the same Michelin-starred restaurant! Situated just up from the Nausicas centre and only a short walk from the town and beach. Rooms are very well appointed, clean and come... More

Stayed for 1 night. I think 2 nights would be enough to remove some of the 'charm'. Safe didn't work Dressing gown provided. No iron. You can drink the french water or bring own bottle water. Bottle water for 50cl is 3e. In the pool you could only do 5 breast strokes per length. Its about 5m by 4m. Only... More

Our ground floor room was different and backed onto a small shared courtyard (handy for smokers though). The welcome was friendly and helpful and the secure parking for us was very useful. The restaurant was superb and gave us one of the best meals we have had. The service was impecable and each course just got better as the meal... More

Very cosy hotel in an old building where the stairs reminded me of Hogwarths Castle (I kept looking if they weren't moving). Very nice atmosphere, very good service, nice rooms, private parking behind the hotel but with direct access to the 2nd floor (12 euro). Good breakfast (for France). Excellent restaurant. Environment is less nice, but ok seaside-walk. The fortified... More

This wonderful hotel will make you feel like a princess by it's amazing rooms with big beds and bathrooms with a tub and generous size mirrors. The spa area, the late check out and the very nice staff will all contribute to your perfect weekend. The beach is just outside and to top everything the restaurant has a Michelin star... More

Stayed three nights at this Hotel. The location was a decent walk from the centre of town. The hotel staff were very pleasant and helpful. Apart from the rather gauche décor throughout the hotel we enjoyed our stay, despite it being a bit pricey (30 Euros for breakfast for two.) My main concern is with the 1 star Michelin restaurant... A nice hotel, friendly people, reasonably located. However we booked standard room and ended up paying for a prestige room, very pricey for what it was. The icing on the cake was being charged £50 for two rum and cokes!

Cosy set of public rooms with quaint corridors; tastefully conventional smallish bedroom with (just) sea view. Efficiently run place, but the accommodation takes second place to the restaurant. Buffet breakfast was satisfactory but not outstanding. The charge of 12e for overnight parking seemed excessive. Recommended for its convenient situation and civilised atmosphere (no piped Musak) especially if you are having... More

Hotel de La Matelote was fantastic - nice drive down from Calais on the coast road. Good location, easy to find but the restaurant was the big surprise - just fantastic french style (if the nice was on the expensive side). Enjoyed by us both.

We had a wonderful holiday travelling around France and thought we would spoil ourselves on the last night. What a mistake, found hotel ok. After booking over 3 weeks ago, we would have expected a better welcome, we had keys given to us for a fantastic mini suite, but up 2 flights of stairs, not a chance of any offer... More
