We were a group of eight people. We booked two rooms for four people, so 4x2: 8 people. They asked 23€ per person, so 184€. We paid them by a transfer. Once we arrived, they asked us for twice the price, so 46€ per person, explaining that it was a mistake of the Tourism Office. We had our invoice. They... More

Comfortable and well looked after. Richard Clayderman style piano music in the bar, waiters in bow ties. Probably suits Luchon well. I aged several years in order to fit in... Very expensive beer. Wine is better bet.

This hotel has got bags of character and a true french feel. The room was quite basic and the beds not the most comfortable but it was perfectly adequate and very clean, spacious and with a nice en-suite bathroom. Decor throughout the hotel is quite 'retro' but I loved it and see this as part of the charm. Not a... More

We stayed here for four nights during the peak of the summer season. Despite being given a twin room even though we booked a double and there being no air conditioning, our room was really lovely and very spacious. The breakfast was quite basic but not bad for the price. What really impressed us about the hotel was the helpfulness... More

Usually very nervous about 2 star hotels in France......on this occasion as I was travelling on my own and not that bothered about a high degree of comfort I decided to risk it. It was a very pleasant surprise. I can't really understand why it is not 3 star. The usual reason is no lift. There is a lift but... More

We booked this hotel for only one night but were so impressed with the service, excellent restaurant and comfortable rooms that we booked 3 nights. It is located right opposite the thermal baths which are well worth a visit. The town of Luchon has some wonderful residences a nice Catholic church and many places to eat at reasonable prices. It... I still get out and ride my bike when I can!!! This is my 5th Stay here although yes the 70's style with the waiters wearing black tie and waitresses all in uniforms. As a 65+ gent I don't look good in lycra and have never been told off here about coming down to breakfast in my shorts, or returning... More

My husband and I stayed for one night at d'Etigny as part of a cycling tour of the Pyrenees. After a long day in the saddle, our group was disappointed to discover that the hotel was not as impressive as its frontage suggested. Hotel d'Etigny is in a good, central location in Luchon, within easy walking distance of the main... More

The property itself is very nice. Traditional old world French, comfortable and nicely appointed. Rooms facing the interior are nicer because they are quiet. Staff are lovely. However, if you ask for anything beyond a room and very mediocre breakfast, be prepared for 'no.' First, the internet advertised does not work. It didn't work during the Tour de France and... More

We visited it during Tour De France so the hotel choices were limited. We were up to a big surprise on the size of the rooms. Hotel itself is a unique charming building with dated luxury feel. Very friendly staff. We strongly recommend having dinner at a hotel as it has the best French cuisine and best service in town.... More
