We only stayed 1 night on our way to Spain and I have to say that we have stayed in better campaniles. We had interconnecting rooms and the kids room was really smelly!!! The rooms were also very tired! We also had a front facing room and the traffic was quite noisy. We did not eat in the restaurant as... More

We were nearing the end of three weeks of travelling when we arrived at Brive. Although we requested ground floor rooms due to an arthritic hip these were not guaranteed but we were grateful that we were given one at this Campanile. There was no bin in the room - only one in the bathroom and no biscuits although we... More

Room was okay however due to a problem with our onward journey I had to rebook the room for another night. We then didn't need the room and cancelled at 1.30 in the afternoon. No refund even though the website says that we should be able to cancel before 6pm. Not happy - Service was poor and overall would not... More

Very much the 'McDonalds' of the hotel world, where consistency and familiarity are the order of the day. At least you know what you're getting for your money, and you need a fair bit to stay there. That said, the cost of hotel accommodation and restaurants has risen steeply in recent years in France, and Campanile has invested heavily in... More

We wanted a place for a one-night stop-over while driving from the Channel down to Spain. We'd stayed here once before: it's easy to find, just off the motorway; it's nothing special (wife finds the rooms a bit poky and dark); I wd say homely, even cosy . . Has slightly North American motel quality. Dinner is standard Campanile, which... More

Used it out of convenience while travelling back from the Dordogne. Does what it says on the box There was a time, 4 or 5 years a go when the Campanile Hotels were really good value, with buffets stocked with while salmon for example, today the bean counters have clamped down on this but they are the devil you know.... We were travelling from the UK to Spain and just needed a convenient place to stay overnight, that was close to the motorway, and roughly halfway on our journey. The Campanile in Brive suited our purposes very well.We had a twin room which was spacious, with a nice bathroom. The reception staff were very friendly and efficient. There was also a nice restaurant on site( not... We stayed in about 6 different Campaniles on our 3 week trip to France and they were great. Most had a good breakfast, a nice restaurant for dinner and were very clean. The staff were very helpful and would call ahead to book us in teh next Campanile on our route. They gave us ice when asked. The hotels were... More
