Spent 2 nights here in August. Lovely old style French hotel set in a really pleasant part of town. The village centre a 10 minute walk down the hill, where there are bars & restaurants. Room was very large with ensuite bathroom. The majority of staff are a credit to the hotel apart from one member of the front desk... More

We caught the TGV from Paris and picked up our car and drove to hotel in 10 mins from Avignon TGV . Hotel is in a great location 10 min walk to very pretty village of villeneuve. Good base to drive to surrounding towns including Arles, st remy. Wonderful outside terrace where you cave per dinner drinks and breakfast. Dinner... More

Stayed here for 6 night Eurostar break with SecretEscapes so great value! Never been on Eurostar before - loved the convenience of the travel! Dingy bedroom on ground floor but you get what you pay for; but setting of hotel lovely! Food was the best we had - some travellers have criticised the staff - the staff were great but... More

We took the Eurostar from London direct to Avignon and picked up a taxi at the TGV station (after a bit of a wait) to the hotel which was about 25 euro. The hotel is about 10 mins walk from the centre of Villeneuve which is 15 mins by bus to Avignon. The hotel is a lovely old house with... More

The building & food are to 4* but not the maintenance and staff attitudes. Garden a bit rundown; swimming pool chemically safe but dead insects and a tired look; way over-sized room toilet seat on an old, small circular pan and a shower head over bath which sprayed into room was unusable as a shower. Most dining staff excellent and... More

My wife and I enjoyed four nights in this classic old hotel last month. We were lucky enough to have a spacious room with an enormous outdoor balcony. The hotel has an outdoor pool and large sun baking area with bar service. The breakfasts and meals were good with plenty of variety. The staff were efficient without being over friendly.... More

We had a special booking inclusive with the direct TGV train from London-Avignon (goes to Marseilles). Although it was a surprise that this hotel was not in Avignon itself, it turns out that this was a huge asset to us as Villeneuve is far nicer and less spoint than Avignon! The hotel is a delight; we had a superior room... More

Superb and attentive staff. Due to a missed connecting flight, instead of arriving at the hotel at a decent hour (around 8P) we arrived after midnight. There was someone there waiting for us who even though his English was non-existent (as was my French) we were able to communicate; he took us to our room, helped w/the luggage, showed us... More

This hotel is not only beautiful with a lovely heritage, it is a quiet, peaceful spot of luxury. Having your meals under 250-year-old plane trees in the garden was a pleasure. The food was of a high standard. The pool was an added bonus. We parked on the premises which can be a problem in many hotels in France. I... More

We were staying at the hotel and asked for a table for dinner that was rudely denied. We are full, Monsieur. Then we went for a drink, the restaurant was half empty and they just dumped our drinks and never came back! That is not what we expect with these prices. Many better placed around to dump your euros. Alas!... More
