My husband and I happened upon Hotel de L'Atelier by chance while escaping the chaos of Avignon and venturing into Villeneuve located on the other side of the river. We were warmly greeted by Stefan, the proprietor and owner of Hotel L'Atelier. The accommodations are charming. Beds are comfortable. The lovely courtyard is a great place to enjoy a glass... More

My Husband and his friend stayed here for 2 nights at the end of a mammoth cycling journey across Italy and France. From the moment they arrived at the front door where they were greeted by the receptionist offering to store their bicycles to the time they left 2 days later, they were looked after like Lords! The 16th century... More

We spent a week at L'Atelier and found it to be a home from home. Delightful hotel, lovely location and what made it most of all was the welcome and help we received, from the minute we arrived and were helped out of the taxi to tips on where to get the best coffee and glasses of cold water after... We were recommended the hotel by friends who stayed a year ago, since when the owners have changed to a charming young couple - Stefan and Pascal. The hotel is very old, but is comfortable and charming. No air con, but fans are provided, and the building was cool, even when hot outside. The staff are very friendly and helpful, and... More

Lucky us, we managed to get a room the night before our Eurostar back to the UK. It was meant to be a convenient stop over but proved to be a real highlight of our holiday. A lovely garden room with plenty of space for the family (no air con, but fans provided). The hotel was very traditional, rustic but... More

A warm welcome, very helpful staff, cosy hotel with a typical atmosphere including the not well maintained interior. Enjoyed the breakfast as well. Stairs are small and difficult to climb with luggage. Beds are terrible and the bath was in the bedroom (room 52, 'superior' room). After a shower the water was leaking and as a result water flowed under... More

Plenty of parking close to the hotel, excellent renovation of an old silk factory, size of rooms more than adequate, location convenient to historical, but very crowded Avignon as long as you have a car, but what made our stay most delightful was the staff.

We were just in Villeneuve-les-Avignon for one night, to attend a chamber music concert. What a charming little hotel this was! Perfect location. Large, comfortable room overlooking the square. Stephan was absolutely delightful, and quite helpful in recommending sites in the village to visit. I will certainly stay here again on my next visit to the area.

We spent a week in a villa in Provence and needed to catch an early TGV train, so wanted a place close to the station. This was a quick 10 min drive to the car rental/ TGV station. We found this hotel by chance and were impressed. The quaint, quiet town of Villeneuve les Avignon is across the river Rhone from... More

Julie and Stephane are wonderful, generous hosts in this charming small hotel. If you're planning to visit Avignon, this village right outside of it has its own wonderful historic sites (such as the Chartreuse Cloisters - magnificent) and nice restaurants - and the hotel is utterly delightful, with pleasant rooms and a beautiful patio with tables for a picnic or...
