We stayed at a time when the hotel was nearly empty, at the very end of October. As background, we normally stay at modern hotels. As this was our honeymoon and we were going to Gorges du Tarn, we thought this might be a charming change of pace. So, we were not expecting modern luxury. However, the experience still left... We stayed here on honeymoon and it was a fantastic old chateau with real character, great pool and gardens. Our room was v. quaint (Bertrand) with bathroom in the turret and a lovely balcony. Food was very good although expensive for what it was. Review would be 5 stars but some of the service was less than brilliant, wrong drinks... More

The Gorges of Tarn are like the Grand Canyon of Europe. This chateau is located directly next to the river Tarn. Our room was large and comfortable. The food was delicious. The location was dream-like. Be careful of the cobblestone hallways floors. Tricky to walk on them and to pull luggage on them. The highway to get there is very... More

Stayed here for two nights on a car tour. This period chateau is like a small stone built castle and positively reeks of charm and character.Good reception and taken to second floor bedroom with proper ensuite bathroom.Stairs might be a problem if infirm so make sure you ask for a bedroom on the first floor if that is a problem. It was... This almost comes under the ‘worth a journey’ heading. This is a stunningly beautiful property, built in the style of the fortress chateaux but apparently intended as a residence from the outset. Circular towers at the corners, meter-thick stone walls, massive interior arches — it is visually rich on its own and made more so by the crags of the... More

The Chateau is set in a beautiful and picturesque location. It is a magnificent building, with characteristic moat, vaulted hallways and 15 century features. We stayed in a more basic room, which was designed well, very clean and in keeping with the beautiful styled chateau. To note, there was no shower, only a tub. My wife loved the massive bath,... What 14th century elegance! Wonderful staff. Impeccable service. Gourmet food -- breakfast and dinner. Dining always with spectacular view. I extended my stay for two extra nights it was so good. Silent right on the river. Reserve in the original castle if you can

A Chateau with three floors may not, for several reasons, have installed a lift. But what it must have is people to help you with luggage or, lacking it, a clear warning in the web pages alerting prospecting visitors to it. This place had neither. A sad show: a group of four couples (in a one month trip) pushing and... More

Now this was a true discovery on our French honeymoon trip! If you fancy a long drive, at the end it is soo worth it! You will end up living in one of the castle's rooms. Ours had the bathroom in a turret! The castle is situated right next to a river in a beautiful gorge. Private pool is a... More

Lovely location, beautiful old castle with slightly eccentric decor. I don't think it is right to advertise wifi available when this is not the case. The staff where very kind and let us use the office internet but this only worked if you sat in the Bar area near the office. The other problem was the noise from the kitchen... More
