To get to this hotel you need to fly to Nimes or Montpellier. Hire a car or its £100 in taxie. The resort is a concrete jungle built in the 60-70 After a while it not that bad. The hotel is fine for a 3 star clean, large rooms and all have excellent view over the mariner. Breakfast is 12... more

A party of us stayed at this hotel on the last weekend in August to round off our holiday in France - and if I'm being honest we were pleasantly surprised ! The hotel communal areas and our bedrooms were modern, bright and clean; the staff were friendly - all to a much higher standard than I was anticipated following... more

I managed to get a last minute reservation at this hotel. In general, the hotel is very nice, it is well situated close to the port and the beaches. The rooms were clean, the staff spoke English well. The restaurant that is attached to the hotel was also very good with great service and good food. All in all, a... more

Stayed two nights in June. The weather was inclement so the hotel was rather a refuge from the rain. Nevertheless it was a pleasant stopover. Rooms are quiet. The hotel is modern and clean. Room views over the marina are pleasant. The large bed was comfortable. Breakfast was buffet style and included hot food. The pancakes were excellent. Breakfast is... more

Stayed here for two days and had a great time....it helped that the weather was perfect. Room was good with a nice balcony overlooking the pool and harbour, all rooms have a sea view. Beaches are around 5 minutes walk. Central to all the restaurants and bars. Good pool, a bit chilly though. Paid around €100 per night. more

La Grande Motte is a purpose-designed & built resort area, which means lots of concrete & cookie-cutter highrise hotels & apartments, which must be a madhouse during season. If you never go there you will have missed nothing, but should you find yourself in the area, or have pre-booked a hotel as we did, then you can do far worse... more

The Mercure is in a superb spot overlooking the marina and with fabulous views. But the interior desperately needs some TLC. Our room was clean but oh so shabby - paint peeling in great chunks off the window framework. The remnants of dead flies or mosquitoes on the interior door surrounds added to the general air of neglect. The staff,... more

The Mercure at La Grande Motte is well located for exploring the town by foot. It also has a secure car park if you are driving as I was. I was looking for a base to explore the area and also a change of pace from all the medieval towns I'd been staying in. La Grande Motte offered a real... more

Had an excellent stay in this hotel. Weekends do get busy but aside from the pool area this was not a problem. All rooms have balconies with sea and port views and make a good place to get a little shade during the hot summer months. Well situated with close proximity to lots of bars and restaurants and the beaches... more

You won't find better than this excellent hotel. Situated right beside the port, excellent restaurants are right around the corner. The food is great in the restaurant, and the service cannot be beat. Note that Montpellier is a bit far, and a taxi can run up to 50 euros. more
