Walking into a hotel with price tags on the paintings may be indicative of the owner's frugality. Unfortunately, this is the problem at La Terrasse au Soleil. The reception area and pool areas are charming enough, but not elegant, more country casual without A/C. However, the rooms are like the equivalent of an american chain, Motel 6, no, worse. Cars... more

This was our third visit to the Terrasse au Soleil in about 6 years and it is definately getting a bit tired around the edges. The rooms are spacious by French standards and most have 2 double beds + a sofa bed, efficient air-con and a balcony with views to die for. The bathrooms are a bit tired and prone... more

Lovely views, large room, renovated bathroom plus pool and other features. However badly in need of full renovation as curtains would not pull, could feel all the springs in the mattress nad soft furnishings very dated. The worst part was the smell whcih no amount of airing would remove. more

My husband and I hosted a joint birthday party there over Thanksgiving weekend (3 days) for 65 people including teenagers, family and friends from all over the world (US, Australia, UK, France). The experience was superb for us and all the guests. Great rooms with stunning views of Mont Canigou and terrace on one side, door leading outside on the... more

Have stayed here three times over the last twenty years. The site of the hotel - and the views of Mont Canigou - are truly magnificent (and unique) but the hotel appears to be in a state of decline. From the appearance of the buildings and the maintenance of the gardens to the web site; everything is looking a little... more

The hotel is difficult to find, with a long climb up and the road cut in two by a new housing estate. The hotel could do with a few more road signs. We went round in circles looking for it! We had a ground floor room with uneven ground outisde the door (if you are lucky) to park. It is... more

First impressions were good, we arrived on a Friday evening with a jazz quartet playing in the garden restaurant. Throughout our stay nothing was particularly bad but service was hit and miss. The staff continually forgot things and its all very well having a breakfast buffet but not if you forget to refill it. Service was generally slack and there... more

We visited La Terrasse in May and September 2005 and spent a considerable sum of money with them on both occasions. The May trip was great: September would have been but was marred by my Wife having quite a serious fall in the corridor leading to the steam room. It was floored in highly glazed tiles with no covering and... more

Excellent Hotel just outside Ceret. Great location with views out to the Pyrenees from the bedrooms. Good rates for low season end September when weather is still very warm. E113 for a large bedroom with 2 double beds and a balcony. A car is recommended even for getting down AND back from the village. more
