An older style, town centre hotel, very traditional with excellent service throughout. Some reports refer to the rooms being rather small, but we had a lovely large room on the first floor, overlooking the square. One wall was simply a very large mirror. The restaurant "Jacky Michel" is simply superb, and we even found the buffet breakfast to be of... More

We stayed one night on our return to the UK, the car park is small. the reception lady was helpful our room was large and clean but with old fashioned furniture. We ate in the restaurant in the evening, for which I have done a separate review. The buffet breakfast was average. On the whole a good stopover if driving... More

The staff are lovely....that is the best thing one can say about this place. Quite average rooms, and I wouldn't really recommend the brasserie unless you want to be turned into salt But it as at least excellent value I probably won't be hurrying back....but it wasn't terrible either

Over the last 10 years we've stayed here 7 or 8 times en route to and from the South of France, opting for Superior or Standard twin-bed rooms both of which provide comfy beds and good facilities. We've eaten occasionally in their Michelin-starred 'Jacky Michel' restaurant - superb for a big night. Of late we more often book into the... More

1 night stay whilst visiting nearby Joseph Perrier Champagne (delightful Champagne by the way & a great tour!) we stayed at this hotel. I would have loved to be able to visit the Michelin restaurant if the standard of breakfast was anything to go by! Beautiful Fruit Salad, fresh & full of unusual fruits like fresh figs, amazing pastries &... More

Charon is not really an exciting city but this hotel I'd almost a gem in the region! You would not expect such a high standard service and quality room there! We were really delighted to land there with our friends and all services were high quality. Breakfast was fantastic and fresh and choice of salty and sweet items with eggs,... More

We were actually staying in a nearby village and came into Chalons for Dinner. Popped into the L'Angleterre for an aperitif and for a look at the menu. I do not care how good the chef is, but the prices for just an entree were well in excess of €38.00 (the cheapest). The rest of the menu was so overpriced... More

Stayed here for a week, whilst attending a business meeting, the reception isn't manned at night, but the guys in the restaurant make sure you have you key and get to your room. Rooms are pretty basic, but comfortable and clean. What really makes this hotel is the great service from the staff and the breakfast, so many choices including... More

We spent just one night at this hotel on our way south. It was very comfortable, clean and the staff were helpful and friendly. We chose this hotel based on Tripadvisor reviews and we were not disappointed. We found it easily enough and used the car park opposite. As it was a Saturday evening - this was not a problem.
