If what you are looking for is a quiet week-end in the countryside, this place might be what you are looking for. The chateau is located near the city of Nevers, but it is off any main road, between the vineyards of Pouilly-Fumé and Sancerre, so you are far away from any source of noise. The sandstone building is in... More

What a pleasure to stay in this lovely hotel. The owner was most welcoming and helpful. The room with it turret bathroom was a delight. Breakfast was very good and the attention to replenishing the buffet was very good. I have read some adverse comments about the chateau in terms of lack of facilities. From a careful read of the... We booked this at the last minute during our travels in France. It was a wonderful find! The young man who welcomed us was so helpful, friendly and accommodating. We explored the grounds, including the enchanting chapel which is being restored by the owners. Sat by the pool in the sun, though it was a bit too cool to swim.... More

Almost exactly halfway between Calais and the Med is this most beautifully restored Chateau, the reception was warm and friendly and the rooms charming and spacious, The grounds are well maintained adding to the overall experience, There are top quality local eateries (The Bengy) to complete your stay. Ask to see the Chapel in the grounds about 300 meters away,... More

Found this quite by accident as we wanted a change of route from our normal "top to bottom" trip of France. Will make it a regular now as it is soooo delightful and so special and magical. The area needs to be explored too as it is such a wonderful wine region !

When going through the gates the Chateau is beautiful. An absolute picture postcard of a classical French country house. The grounds are spacious, well laid out and in summer the swimming pool would be absolutely delightful.. Ample parking at the front of the house, but quite a lot of steps up to the main entrance door. No problem for me... More

I stayed here for a race weekend at the nearby Magny Cours race track. While the area/landscape is certainly not worth the trip, I can highly recommend this hotel. It is an absolutely lovely 19th century chateau that oozes character and charm. You obviously cannot compare it to purpose-built modern 5 star hotels with air conditioning, standard room lay-outs and... More

Everything was as, or more than expected: perfect domaine (lake, chapel, huge garden, nice swimming pool etc). The staff was very kind and helpful. Nice lobby and breakfast room. The room (superior double) was out of words, we had the bathroom in the donjon with 300 degree perfect view and 8 windows!! Do not imagine a huge bathroom, small but... More

Newly refurbished but kept all of its charm and character. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly. Breakfast was delicious. Wonderful to sit out and listen to the crickets and frog song in the evening. A lovely place to get away. Wished we could have stayed longer and made use of the lovely pool.

What a lovely place to stay, wish we could've stayed longer. Full of character and charm. The guy who welcomed us was really helpful and friendly and spoke excellent English. They have a lovely outdoor pool that we unfortunately didn't have time to use but we did enjoy listening to the crickets and frogs song from the terrace. The rooms... More
