Nice and clean hotel about 500m from the town centre. Ask for private parking if going by car, it's very useful. Vannes is a very beautiful town and the surrounding area is worth a visit too. We had breakfast just one of out of three days because the town is filled with cafes and boulangeries.

Good value hotel for a short stay. Very clean rooms, good size but needs updating. Bathroom was a little tired and the shower had a high step up with nothing to hold onto, this could be difficult to manoeuvre safely. The continental breakfast was good and the variety plentiful. Would consider for a stop over. The one way system in... More

This was our 3rd stay at this hotel in 3 years. Very friendly and helpful owners and staff. Room was perfect (opted for the larger style room), backed onto the rear garden area so was lovely and quiet. Breakfast is well worth paying for as its plentiful, lots of choice and unhurried. Free WiFi and if you forget your laptop/iPad,... More

Spent 3 days with 3 golfing colleagues in spotlessly clean rooms. We had an excellent welcome from Alison who with her colleagues looked after us very well and were an invaluable resource for information. Comfortable beds, well furnished bedrooms and delightful continental breakfasts. We all plan to return. Thank you to all the staff at Hotel De France in Vannes.

I stayed at this hotel in 2009 and thought it was a real gem so I booked to stay the night again as it's in a good location for the train station. On this occasion the room I had was shabby and it was a real disappointment - I don't think it merits three stars. Based on this experience, I... More

We spent 7 nights here. Nothing was too much trouble for the proprietors. Room was fine (if a little small, with the un-needed third bed in the way). Breakfast is generous and unhurried. The location is central, within 10 minutes walk of the ancient city centre, and about 5 minutes walk from the station. Car parking is OK in the... More

my wife & i travelled to vannes for a weekend away from our home near mont st michel - having lived in france for 17 years we have visited many areas & have stayed in a number of hotels - this, we agreed, was one of the best - excellent location, close to the port, the old town & golfe... More

We visited Vannes while travelling by car and had a parking reservation which cost us 5 Euro. The parking was safe and right next door to the hotel. The hotel was clean, warm and had a friendly atmosphere that said "welcome home" as we walked in. The room and bathroom was clean and we had a good nights rest. (the... More

Just a mere two minute walk from the Train Station. On arrival at the hotel I thought we were too far out of town, but this was not the case, just a 5 minute walk to the Old Town, another 5 minutes to the Harbour and Information Centre, but, there is a bus stop right outside the hotel! in both... We stayed 3 nights here and do not have a single complaint from our stay. Staff and service were great! Wonderful value and spacious enough in both rooms for 3 people in each room. Limited parking available on site for 5 euro per night and prior reservation is recommended. Elevator for access to top levels of rooms and a simple... More
