5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 week ago NEW

We spent 2 nights and twice had a dinner and just loved everything! Let's start with the location, exquisite, towering the Mount Saint Michel bay (you can admire on your far right, North East of Chäteau Richeux), a wonderful bay where light, clouds and sun keep playing with the sand and the sea giving the place a distinct identity almost... As American couple with some of the experience that comes with age we booked a night at the Chateau Richeux in connection with having dinner at Le Coquillage, the excellent restaurant associated with it. The Chateau was built between the Wars and has an Edwardian feel in the public rooms. There is much wood paneling and a library bar with... More

The era when france is the leading purveyor of luxury service is so passé. Look at all the luxury hotels in paris: four season george v, mandarin oriental, shang ri la, peninsula, plaza athenee, le meurice, none of them is french owned. Now, Chateaux Richeux is classified as 5 stars and the french raaaave about this place. This leads to... More

We stayed in three Chateaux & Relais properties during our visit to France in November. We would rank this one lowest of the three. Having said that, it is still a beautiful hotel. The service was not great. Certainly not above standard in a regular hotel, and in some respects not even that. We almost drove past the entrance to... More

Stayed in the Chateau for the first time on Monday. Have eaten there before in warmer times. There was a certain beauty in the views from our windows in Gingembre overlooking the famous baie de Mont St Michel. Whilst the Mont itself loomed eerily through the mist. The staff in the hotel/ restaurant are superb and very friendly. The room... More

My husband and I spend 2 nights in this hotel in October, 2014 as we were marking our 15 years marriage anniversary. The place is very nice. We were in Ginger room and just loved it. Really advise to stay there if it is available. Many people mark it as the best room in the hotel. Breakfast is served in... More

I've been fortunate enough to travel to some great locations in the last 15 years. Without question, the Chateau Richeux is one of the most memorable places I've ever stayed at. The location is stunningly beautiful and impeccably maintained. The dinner is one of the best meals I've ever experienced. If ever in Cancale, you must get some mussels. My... More

This was our second visit to this hotel. The first was back in the mid-nineties, when it had just opened under current ownership, and we remember it as less "relais et chateaux-ish" and more pleasantly idiosyncratic in those days. Still, we had a lovely stay. The location, on a windswept promontory overlooking Mont St Michel Bay, is spectacular, and the... More

I have to start by saying this is not a review of the restaurant. The restaurant is a fantastic, 5 star dining experience. I will do a separate review of it under the restaurant name (Le Coquillage). Unfortunately we were underwhelmed by the Chateau Richeux as a hotel. It started with our check in where the person at the desk... More

After a long trip from Belgium to France, arriving in Chateau Richeux was heaven. Our room had a beautiful sea view and we also found a warm welcome letter from Olivier Roellinger next to a finest cognac from the region, delicious cookies and lovely organic apples from the garden. Every night the staff left a note in our room to... More
