This is an excellent budget hotel. The room was clean and, for the price, it was much better than I expected. Excellent location in the middle of town and near the start of the two circular footpaths. The owners are very helpful (and speak English).

When we first arrived we were a bit dubious about this hotel and wondered why it rated so well. It's only 2 star and pretty basic. But as time went on we changed our views. It is run by a husband (the chef) and wife (front of house) team who own and run the whole place. The husband bakes fresh... More

A little family run hotel. Only 18 rooms. We arrived ate in the evening and asked if there were any rooms...ideally with a view of the mountains. Thats exactly what we got. From the balcony we had great views of the snow lined mountains. And over the town. Breakfast was home made croissants and bread, with home made jams that... More

OK for a night if you are in a pinch, but this is quite a grubby hotel, paint and carpets peeling, bathroom did not smell pleasant and room had not been well cleaned before we arrived. Owber is very friendly but we did not understand how this Hotel was so high up in tripadvisor ratings and felt that we had... More

Just spent a lovely week here, and must praise the cuisine. We ate here every evening, although there are plenty of restaurants in town. Like other reviewers, we would recommend this hotel for a good value, clean, comfortable and welcoming stay. We walked every day right from the hotel - not having a car was no problem. Super holiday.

We recently stayed at the hotel for a week. The owners were welcoming, friendly and helpful. The view from our room of the village and the mountains in the distance was lovely. Coming from Australia, which is a very young country, made this stay in such a lovely village very enjoyable. There were lots of interesting places both in the... More

Le Mont Dore is very scenic, nestling underneath the Puy de Sancy. The area is great for walking and has a funicular at the top of the town and an enclosed cable car at the base of the Puy de Sancy (9 euro return). The base of the mountain is about 2km outside of the town. The 'Therme' baths in... More

Stayed 3 nights (at €53 per night excl. breakfast) - a terrific rate, though a little out of season. Very basic, but clean and functional room with a good shower. Ask for room at front with balcony - super views of town, and especially Puy de Sancy. Although balcony rooms are over the street it is very quiet at night.... More
