One of the better Ibis hotels with food and drink available around the clock. Breakfast served from 4am so ideal for an early start. Showers good, OK its not top end luxury but its not the cheap budget experience of other groups either. Stayed many times over the last 4 years enroute to Spain and back. more
... but for much less money you can stay at the nearby new Ace Hotel, which hasn't. I mention that because we stayed very happily at the Ace for 9 of our 10 nights in Issoire but they were full one night so we had to relocate to the Ibis. Much more expensive and MUCH noisier. Also not as clean. Save yourselves a few Euros and try the Ace - it's extremely good value for money - although the selection of breakfast tea is much better at the Ibis!
The Ibis was ok but for sheer value for money, I'd go back to the Ace any time, and the lack of a bar was no problem as there's the charming Auberge du Petit Mas a very short stroll away.
If you do stay at the Ibis and they recommend the Courtepaille for your supper - don't do it! The worst meal I have ever had anywhere in France, quite inedible.
