Spent a night here - took 2 rooms at different prices which which were very similar. Faded furnishings, small room with a slightly stuffy feel but what one expects in a very old building. Helpful staff and the location is absolutely superb - a stone's throw from the old beautiful centre of town. Reasonable, not excellent, value for money. Don't... More

Have just stayed a 3rd time at Recollets, because we love the location, so close to shops, cafes and amazing restaurants. Found in a quaint little street with parking nearby- free in the winter months. Breakfast is extra and in the summer is served in the courtyard.

Sarlat is a really pretty town with fabulous countryside surrounding it - well worth taking time to drive around. Les Recollets was a big disappointment - I had read the reviews but assumed incorrectly that the owners would have taken notice and dealt with the issues - it doesn't make any sense at all not to surely? They most certainly... More

We came by motorbike, easy to find just off main road up a steep ramp. Could get the bike up the ramp to unload all the luggage. You can park the bike in a small square next to the hotel. This is forbidden but the hotel suggested it and we had no trouble for the 2 nights we were there.... More

Thank you for taking time to share your opinion about the hotel. I am pleased you liked the courtyard, this is the strong point of the hotel, and a lot of people like to eat breakfast there. If you come back for another stay, we have also bigger room, quite the double of the room you had, for 20 euros... More

Mother and I hired a two room split level. Two singles upstairs and a single outside the toilet. Entered straight onto the courtyard. Great location, plenty of character but I thought the rooms a lttle cramped for the price.

Thank you for taking time to share your opinion about your stay. All our rooms for 3 or 4 people are adjacent which satisfied families we receive. We are located inside the medieval town of Sarlat which is very convenient to visit the old city. I will be happy to welcome you for another stay in Sarlat, Christophe More

Although the hotel is cheap and in a great central part of Sarlat, it turns out not to be so cheap. They charge 10 E per day for parking when there is lots of free parking close by. They call themselves pet friendly and our booking told us there MAY be a charge for a pet. We were very surprised... More

Thank you for taking time to share your opinion about your stay. I am sorry that you did not enjoy your stay in the hotel. About your dog, we want to apologize you think you MAY pay for it, it was a translation problem with the site you booked with, which is resolved since you came. On the same website,... More

We stayed for 4 nights. This hotel is a 2 star and good value for money. You cannot expect luxury at this price, it is a base for the opportunity to explore this amazing area. Christophe one of the owners looked after us very well and was so helpful. The courtyard was nice to relax in too.

Just had our second stay at Hotel des Recollets. The building is full of character and our room this time was very sad and dated. The bathroom was a tight squeeze. There is a free public car park about 10 minutes walk away. So travel light. However, the location can not be beaten and this is quite important when staying... More

I had read about this hotel from a Rick Steves book. I had contacted the concierge before my trip and was told we could fit 3 into a room. In fact, the room was 2 separate bedrooms, separated by stairs. Upon arriving, the gentleman was not too accommodating in helping me to understand his French, even when I let him... More

This 2 star hotel is very well located close to the centre of Sarlat and only meters from a very good restaurant - Les Quatre Saisons. Our room was small, tidy, nicely decorated and the bathroom was fine. But see below. The receptionist speaks very good English and is an asset to the business; friendly, courteous, helpful. Breakfast is an... More
