Our stay in Sarlat could not have been more lovely thanks to the delightful ambiance of La Lanterne. Terry and Roy Bowen went out of their way to welcome us and introduce us to the charm and warmth of the region. They made a number of excellent guide books available for guests to borrow and were happy to advise us... more

My wife and I spent a week at La Lanterne this past May. We were taking a long overdue vacation to France and Terri and Roy Bowen helped make it a huge success. La Lanterne is perfectly located for sightseeing and shopping in Sarlat. Its rooms are comfortable and nicely appointed, and Terri's breakfasts are delicious. This bed-and-breakfast is not... more

Sarlat la Caneda with its mystique maze of cobblestone lanes and alleys that reveal bars, cafes, brassieres and shops in the most obscure places that can be found by exploring. La Lanterne B&B is centrally located within this "hidden treasure" right alongside the landmark Cathedrale Saint -Sacerdos. Your hosts Terri & Roy Bowen are the friendliest and accommodating folk we... more

La Lanterne was the perfect place to stay during our short break to Sarlat. Perfect location, wonderfully friendly hosts and beautiful surroundings. La Lanterne couldn't be more central, and being right next to the Cathederal was a massive bonus. Terri and Roy were wonderful hosts; they provided a lovely breakfast and helped us to arrange the canoeing trip we had... more

Within spitting-distance of the medieval cathedral, just up the road from the fantastic Presidial restaurant (featured in the Michelin Good Food Guide), and with parking just down the lane, this place was the perfect stop-off point for our stay in Sarlat. Tasty breakfast and Roy and Terri were more than happy to help sort out our little canoeing expedition! Beds... more

La Lanterne has everythign we like most when we trave - clean, comfortable rooms, friendly informative hosts, great location with lots of history.... Our Hosts were wonderfully accomodating and witty and and we loved sharing travel stories and life in general with them and the other guests in the courtyard. They also have Wifi which is a big plus! more

If you are planning a trip to Sarlat, La Lanterne is the place to stay. Our vacation included an apartment in Paris and several beautiful Chateaux around France. But La Lanterne was easily the highlight of our trip. The charming B & B sits right in the middle of the old medieval city. The history of the home is fascinating.... more

We were warmly welcomed by Terri & Roy in the perfect setting for a B&B to discover the south-west of France. Our room was just as I imagined it would be stopping in France with lovely french windows overlooking the courtyard and the Lanterne de mort. We could not have been happier with the B & B and the service... more

We were warmly welcomed by Terri, who actually came out to find us as we got lost! After being shown to our gorgeous room (the courtyard suite) Terri kindly filled us in the delights that Sarlat has to offer. La Lanterne is just stunning in every way. Starting with the beautifully decorated rooms with all its little touches, to what... more

We stayed here in August and found the room to be pretty and very central. The short stroll through the lanes to the restaurants and amazing markets was only about 2 minutes. I think that as a B&B breakfast could be included in the price. Overall the B&B is very pretty and the rooms well decorated and with lovely views,... more
