We had read the great reviews of La Lanterne on Trip Advisor but it was even better than expected. Beautiful accomodations, delightful village and the most gorgeous countryside. We stayed for 3 nights in September and wished we had more time. Richard and Debbie were excellent hosts and saw to our every need. We were traveling by train and appreciated... More

I'm not sure you could get a more friendly, down to earth (yet luxurious) moderately priced and centrally located experience anywhere in France. The experience starts with a very friendly greeting, house tour by the lovely Terri, and complimentry refreshment. The room was exquisetly furnished and the four poster (with silky trimmings) the most comfortable we had experienced during our... More

We stayed at La Lanterne for 4 nights and it was fantastic. Richard and Deb looked after us from serving great breakfasts to helping us with directions and anything else we needed to make our stay comfortable. La Lanterne is only a 2 minute walk from the village with good restaurants and shops couldnt be more central. We would certainly... More

La Lanterne lived up to our expectations based on great Tripadvisor reviews. We stayed with Richard and Debbie in September for 5 nights and found the location and accommodation to be excellent. The Tapestry room was charming, large enough for two people to be comfortable and the bed enabled a very good nights sleep. A lovely courtyard was the place to... More

La Lanterne is one of a kind. Hospitality is unique. Rooms are very comfortable and breakfasts are undescribable. Location is perfect. I spent 3 days there with my daughter and we enjoyed every moment of it. I would go back anytime! Thanks Terri, Debbie and Richard.

everything was magic, the house is beautiful, our room was perfect, the decoration is stunning. The breakfast was simply delicious, and the owners are the most friendy people that I ever met, they make you feeling like in family. Thank you very much for our lovely stay.

We selected our stay at La Lanterne based on prior Trip Advisor reviews and we were not disappointed. Our 16 day trip started in Paris and ended in St Emilion. We stayed at La Lanterne for 2 nights and it was a true highlight for two reasons: 1) Sarlat and the Dordogne Valley are breathtaking; and 2) the hospitality that... More

La Lanterne is a true Gem in this beautiful medieval town, it is perfectly situated in the old town, steps from great restaurants, shops and the market is practically at the door step. Richard and Debby are warm, welcoming and exceptionally friendly. They made us feel like we were staying with old friends, Richard prepares a great breakfast every morning,... More

Our stay in Sarlat was truly the highlight of our trip to France - partly because it's beauty was so unexpected and partly because we fortunately booked La Lanterne as our base for touring. After a day of caves, beautiful hill towns and stunning rivers we were cozy and comfortable at La Lanterne. We felt terribly pampered by Richard and... More

We spent a week touring the Dordogne and Sarlat was our base. La Lanterne was a perfect place to stay -- just above the fray of Sarlat, which is pretty insane with tourists in August (especially during the farmers market on Saturday, but it's worth it; the food is delicious) and close enough that we could be in the thick...
