The room was very clean but could use some updating. The mattress was fairly comfortable. The bathroom was very clean but the towels need to be changed out for new ones as they were looking a little worn. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. We did not use the restaurant as we spent most of our time in Sarlat.... More

I booked a superior double room but it was far from superior and was not cheap , the room was very tired, the bed was comfortable and the shower was ok. The shower was over the bath and it was a very deep bath, at 6foot tall it wasn't easy getting my leg over the bath to stand in the... More

My wife and I stayed at the Hotel St Albert from September 12 through September 15. This hotel was our second choice as we had booked a room for those dates at the Hotel des Recollets. However, when we informed the Recollets that our train would be arriving after their normal check-in time and asked if they could arrange for... More

We liked this hotel. Could have been better if there was a lift, but room staff were helpful in assisting with luggage even though the reception staff were not. I had a quiet back room, no view but I wasn't complaining!! The bed was one of the nicest I slept in on my six month trip. The bus to and... More

We found the room size quite good - perhaps we had a larger one ? The decor was lovely and the bathroom new and clean. The shower is the largest (and best) we've had had in our 3 week trip. Yes, it was noisy and my partner found the bed uncomfortable although I didn't. We came in June and it... More

The problem with pulling into a town late in the afternoon on your motorbike is you tend to want the first place you happen upon. In fairness they were very pleased to offer a secure parking place for the bike, which is great peace-of-mind but the room was a more than tad dull and could do with a spruce up,... More

There are two things that I really liked about this hotel. First, the perfect location. To put things in a perspective: Sarlat is a small town. The train station is 15-20 minutes walk from the town center. If you're not so fond of walking, take the bus. I took the bus (in my defense, I was coming in from another... More

We booked this hotel as it seemed from the photos and website very 'French' with the individual styles to the rooms, all of which show quite a good size. On arrival we could not find it and asked the local policeman, who had no idea either. Eventually we found it but it was locked up and we had to go... More

We stayed at the Hotel St Albert for two nights (Sunday and Monday) for a little treat after our friends' wedding in the Dordogne region. The hotel is boutique-styled with a restaurant and wine bar attached (which unfortunately was not open on the 2 nights we stayed but we tried some delicious white wine in the bar one afternoon). The... More

We stopped at the St Albert for one night during the recent 'mini-heatwave' experienced in the S of France. Having parked (for free at the weekend) on the street directly outside, we were greeted by a very friendly lady on reception who checked us in rapidly and apologised that our room on the second floor may be a little warm....
