We spent a lovely 4 nights at this hotel in late June. We had a lovely 2-room family suite with enough room for 3 adult women. The [efficient] air conditioning was welcome given the extended heat wave blanketing France and Spain. The toilet area was separated from the bathroom, which is always handy for getting ready in the am. Breakfast... More

Excellent bed, bathroom, AIR CONDITIONING. Fine location near north end of Sarlat for local travel destinations and groceries, fuel, snd MacDonald's. Also walkable to very interesting City Center. Lovely garden and off- street parking behind Hotel Madrigal. Hope to visit again in cooler weather.

Sarlat was our absolute favorite place visited during our 11 days in France--we road tripped for 7 days and did Paris for 3. This hotel was our base during our day in Sarlat. The location is perfect for walking into the medieval city. It's about 5 minutes and even less to little cafes and restaurants. This hotel definitely feels 'budget'... More

We stayed at this hotel on our last night and it was a very pleasant stay. The rooms were large and the bath had a tub and shower. There is no restaurant in this hotel, so you must take the evening meal out, which is not a problem as there are many restaurants nearby. There is a Lift and Air... More

I echo pmgne's comments below. We booked here because of the family room and the parking. It fitted what we wanted. I did think the room was quite big and the adjoining room for our two boys was also spacious. Better than a squeezed in sofa bed. Bridgette on reception was friendly without being overly so. She recommended a lovely... More

We stayed on a Friday night and had a family apartment of two bedrooms and a bathroom. Basic sums it up. The lady on the front desk was pleasant and she multitasked as in many small hotels, also helping serve breakfast. It is not badly situated at the end of town (about 5 minutes walk from the old town streets... More

Written up by Rick Steves, so we tried it out. Turned out great. Newly renovated. Efficient and friendly. Family run but very professional. Small well appointed rooms. Lovely intimate garden in its inner court. Small well stocked bar. Pleasant open plan lobby. Excellent breakfast. Madame even made a clafoutis from freshly harvested cherries from her mother's tree and offered it... More

We spent 4 nights here, as part of a tour group. Location was good - 10 minute walk to the center of town. Plenty of restaurants within 10 minutes; laundromat close by. Helpful staff; decent-sized room w/ amenities. Nice bathroom w/ tub/shower; toilet separate. Lovely outdoor patio in the back for guests as well as large sitting area on the... More

Very friendly welcome. The smile on the receptionist couldn't have been wider. Clean room. Marvellous air conditioning (required in 35 degree heat). Only 5 minutes walk from the old town. Safe on street parking. The hotel reminded us of a US style motel. Very reasonably priced.

Pleasant hotel within 5 minutes' walk to medieval city. Pleasant staff - Our room was very clean, comfortable and quiet . Prices were reasonable (low season). Breakfast was fine. We will stay there again.
