It was a familly visit and the name Mercure was enough for us to select this hotel. We had previously stayed in Rouen at the Mercure hotel where we were very pleased in all areas. Actually we stayed the night of Jan. 1 2007 but I couldn't choose 2007 for the year in the menu, so it's December 2006 for this review. Strangely, this hotel closes for the month of January for vacation...I've never heard of a large chain hotel closing for an entire month. And it was closing on Jan. 2. So of course... more
Hotel is located on the main street of Dax, hence heavy traffic all day and night. There is no air-conditioning in the hotel and with open windows - very noisy. Room was large and clean but some furniture literally broken and other much abused. Bathroom facilities OK but nothing special. The hotel has seen better days and tries to keep... more
