Without a doubt the highlight of our stay at the Hotel le Province was the welcome we received from the owner. He was extremely helpful and courteous, finding a place for our bicycles in the garage and directing us to the sights and places to eat. The next day we overheard him offering to give other guests a lift in... More

We stayed here with four friends for a weekend reunion. It is a small comfortable hotel-slightly old fashioned ,but the standard rooms are adequate-the superior rooms are excellent. All are very clean. The breakfasts are good and the owner hosts were so friendly and helpful There is a small garage at the hotel -book a place in advance. It is only... More

We stayed here one night before we set off on our canal trip. It's a small, comfortable hotel very conveniently located close to restaurants, shops and the Locaboat base. The rooms are not large, but they are clean and well-maintained. Loved the hosts - they were extremely friendly and accommodating.

Another of the places we stayed in as we cycled from Bordeaux to Sete in September. Chosen as we made our way down we cycled into town and followed the directions from My GPS unit. On arriving outside, first observations was a straight forward hotel. My wife went in to ask if they had rooms available, they did and when... More

Exceedingly kind and helpful owners who found us a parking space in the rain and did everything they could to make our stay comfortable. My husband was unwell at the time and they helped us with our bags and gave good advice on where to eat and also the local pharmacy.

We were cycling through the Garonne Valley and needed a last minute stopover at Agen. Surprisingly Agen is not blessed with a selection of quality hotels so were very pleased when we arrived at the Hotel Provence to a warm welcome from the friendly owners. Our room was large and comfortable with a King Size bed and good shower. There... More

This is not a plastic modern hotel. Welcome very good. Good sized bedroom. Separate WC which I always like. Huge bed! The location in the centre is superb. There is no restaurant but within 5 minutes walk there are many excellent restaurants. Breakfast room. Good price.

Management is overtly hostile. Arriving at noon, we were told the hotel is closed until 4 pm and we could not enter. Managers berated us for disturbing imaginary "other guests." They refused to honor our credit card, which we had used successfully throughout rural France, and insisted on cash the evening before checkout. The next morning they rudely shooed us... More

Having turned down the opportuity to sleep in a shoe-box sized room at Le Perigord (where we later enjoyed a good meal - see my review) we booked into Le Provence, just a few minutes away. We had a comfortable sleep in the largest bed I have ever seen apart from the Great Bed of Ware at the Victoria and... More
