Stayed in the junior suite. Hospitable owners. Couldn't find parking due to a wedding in the village so owner gave us her parking stall. Helped us with the luggage. No air conditioning but it was nice to have the windows open at night. Huge room. Can I emphasize clean. The owner checks every room after it is cleaned. Would stay... More

We have read quite a few excellent reviews about the Hostellerie du Château and find ourselves baffled. To those who write that the welcome was warm and magnificent, the owners were kind and helpful, we say our experience was the opposite. No welcome to speak of, reluctant help with luggage (we are in our sixties and seventies). Perhaps worst of... More

My wife and I took a month-long driving trip around France staying at 14 different hotels, and the Hostellerie du Chateau was our favorite. It has the best location in Eguisheim, right on the main square. Five paces from the hotel door is an impressive town square, with its lovely fountain, church and chateau. In fact, Eguisheim was voted the... More

Right in the centre of the story book quaint Eguisheim. Hostellerie du Chateau is very clean and beautifully decorated. Bearing in mind that this is a town dating from before the Middle Ages you might think there would be compromises with accommodation. Have no fear. This is a delightful hotel and the couple that run are friendly and helpful. It... More

We recently stayed here for 3 nights at the beginning of our road trip to the Swiss passes. It was a very convenient first stop en route from Calais and one of the prettiest little towns I have seen. The hotel was extremely comfortable and clean and the breakfasts were delicious. It was very hot during our stay and a... More

We stayed at this hotel for one night (which was plenty in a place this size) and I'm so glad we did because this town is so picturesque and quaint. It truly looks like something out of a fairy tale. We had the junior suite on the top floor, which had a really neat, huge bathroom and a queen bed.... More

Just the perfect location. Eguisheim is a good base to explore the vin de route and du Chateau is a good choice. Super helpful staff, great decorations, super clean and good value room and breakfast. No ac but this is normal, big windows in two directions. The shower is a pain with water everywhere. We would go back.

Great situated in the centre of the city overlooking the main square. Rooms are very clean and reasonably sized. Best part are the friendly owners that provide very good recommendations (e.g. once when we were looking for a restaurant because our own choice turned out to be a terrible one...) and prepare a really nice breakfast.

We stayed three nights in this tiny place in the tiny center of tiny Eguisheim. The town itself gave us access to all the 9 wineries and many grand cru vineyards I wanted to visit, both to the north and south, with minimal driving. It is the prettiest, least crowded of the hill towns. The hotel is run by a... More

A pretty hotel right in the centre-stayed in a superior room overlooking the square and fountain. Very comfortable room with plenty of space, great bed and large bathroom (no shower curtain, but had a bath anyway!) Nice breakfast and owners couldn't have done more. One downside was we stayed on a Tuesday night and almost every restaurant in town was... More
