This is only a two star hotel, so can't be judged as anything more. It is out of town, up a road leading into the hills, so it is shaded by many trees. Shame as we were hoping for some sun! Hence the patio area was chilly. However that is what it is. Our room was large and we had... More

We chose this hotel out of the Logis guide. It is shown as a Logis Silence and we chose it because we needed a good night's sleep following a long hop from Calais and an ever further journey south the next day. The hotel is built in a traditional Alsatian style and ideal for an overnight stop. There isn't anything... More

We decided to stop over in Barr based on Rough Guide comments, and the positive tripadvisor reports decided us on Chateau D'Andlau. Well done tripadvisor but poor marks Rough Guide! We opted to find a restaurant in Barr so only had breakfast in the hotel, but we can happily endorse other reviewers' comments on the quality and character of the... More

We stayed at this great hotel in July 2013, our ninth stay, and found that the staff, service, hospitality and cuisine go from strength to strength. Christian's creativity in the kitchen and the presentation of excellent quality food has no bounds. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff and it is hard to believe that it rates only two... We stayed here for 2 nights and were very happy with our choice. The restaurant was quite good and we thought a very good value. The decor may be slightly dated but it was extremely clean and comfortable. Our room was spacious and had a sofa for relaxing. The location is wonderful....an oasis in the countryside but very close to... More

Basically good hotel; friendly staff - main selling point was the restaurant which was superb, with the most extensive wine cellar known to man. Excellent locataion to explore the local area - a short distance from the local village which was reasonably long walk

A small family run hotel in a beautiful part of France, right out of town so very tranquill and peacefull. Rooms are nice and clean ( if a little dated & no tea/coffee facilities in the room) beds are firm but comfortable and food is good (if a little fancy) plenty of bread through out the set menu. The local... More

The hotelis situated right at the top of the village, away from all roads and is very quiet. The rooms are average, but the food in the restaurant is exceptonal. The chef / owner tries very hard to match the latest in restaurant food fashion. The crab 'accras' or fishcakes were small balls, served in a cup like an ice ream... More

Yes it is small and quite hotel with a lovely charm. During my stay the weather was very hot and I was lucky to have the superior room with a balcony. The hotel is nice and clean and the evening c restaurant is very good. The breakfast is O.K. except one thing- only one cruason per person (of course it... More

The hotel as such is fine for a 2 star rating, but there is no food on Mondays, the breakfast is poor with reheated croissants so dry thay crumbled in the hand, and no muesli. Dinner was very elaborate, with a ridiculous 6 cm thick winelist, and very slow service. All show on the plate but little substance.
