I recently stayed at the Grand Hotel in Calvi at the beginning of August. My friend and I were amazed at how accommodating the staff was. Upon arrival we asked if there was anyway we could be moved to a room with a view to which they immediately moved us without question. They helped us confirm bus times, they directed... More

Most of the reviews about this hotel are negative. It is about time to correct this. We stayed 7 nights and we had 2 rooms on the 3rd floor (courtyard side). Clean and comfortable, rooms of a decent size with large beds (100 cm), the air conditioning was working properly. Safety box at disposal from the reception.Considering the hotel category... More

This hotel is OK but not great. The location in the old town is pretty good with easy access to various parts of town. But the hotel is a bit tired and the room was very basic albeit very big. Dinner was very good but breakfast pretty limited.

Rooms reasonably clean and comfortable , and friendly, helpful staff. A lack of bathroom fittings - pegs and shower attachment for instance. Food rather poor overall. Unannounced alterations to dinner menus, frequent 'unavailable' dishes, almost non-existent wine list, and mediocre food preparation - many dishes evidently not freshly prepared immediately before being served. Breakfasts not bad, but very limited and... More

We came here out of season and all but his hotel had closed. The grand was closing within the week, so we could not expect too much. I would not want to come during the season as I would feel ripped off. The room was large and we were given twin beds as the receptionist said that the double is... More

It is sometimes hard to know what you are going to get when you reserve a room in a 3 star hotel. For example, we once stayed in a room where someone had scratched off one of the embossed 3 stars on a room guide. While we do not condone vandalism, we could understand the sentiment, as we looked at... More

The only bad hotel of our trip! We paid a bit more to get a Comfort Room, I would like to ask "what comfort"???? The staff was nice and the hotel is very central, that's about the only nice things I can say. The bedroom was a good size but small bathroom. We didn't get cold water from the tap.... More

We stayed a week and found the staff very helpful at all times. Rooms were cleaned well. The hotel position was central and convenient for looking around the town and boats in the marina. The hotel has probably seen better days and could do with updating - shower heads were on the taps but had no hook high up for... More

The Grand Hotel in Calvi is very central and it is easy to walk to the harbour and the citadel. Little streets nearby are interesting to explore. Our room was clean and a reasonable size. We had dinner in the large, rooftop restaurant and watched a superb sunset turn the nearby mountains a stunning pink before darkness fell. The food... More

While I had high expectations for this hotel, I found it strictly adequate. Nice location near the marina and the Citadel made it convenient. I was disappointed at how tired and run down the public areas of the hotel were, like the throw cover over a forlorn sofa on the 3rd floor landing near our room. Lobby, bar, hallways, elevator...
