If you find your self around the Cambridge area and looking for a decent hotel with freindly service. The Cross Keys will not dissapoint you. The hotel has a restaurant that on a Wednesday and Thursday promotes a steak night for £6 pounds, so is excellent value for money. The breakfast offered a good selection and the owner cooks a... After reading the comments below, I could not disagree more with your negative comments (I understand not everyone is easily pleased and some people are just plain fussy)). I have had the pleasure of staying here many times and have always found it friendly, charming and the atmosphere of the old building is great. The staff have always been polite... More

I went to this restaurant a few days ago. The staff are quite polite, but the managers were appauling. They were rude to multiple people, including their staff. No one deserves to be treated the way I had witnessed. Never going back there again, not even if I was paid a million pounds.

Used the function room for a family celebration (over 30 of us). Ages ranged from 1 to 81. Also booked two rooms for overnight stay. Had a really great evening. Food was good, enjoyed the fire in the bar and service absolutely fine. Rooms and breakfast excellent. It is very old so you get atmosphere.

Popped in for Sunday Lunch just before they were due to finish but we were given a table. Another large party also arrived just afterwe did. In spite of this service was very good. My beef was a litte overdone for my taste but eveyone else that was eating with me was more than satisfied. The vegetables we were given... More

I have never stayed in the overnight accomodation so will comment only on the pub/resturant. I am a frequent visitor to this pub and resturant and have only once (some time back I may add) had a dissapointing meal, and on this occasion I was asked not to pay (without any prompt), so felt that good food and service is... I do not like to leave negative feedback as I always think this is people’s livelihood, so I am hoping that the following will be seen as constructive criticism I had organised a family reunion (6 couples), who had travelled from around the country to Chatteris. Room 15 - I felt it a little basic for £90. The bathroom looked as... More

Eight of us chose the Cross Keys to have a weekend away. The rooms were a little tired, true, but that seemed to be reflected in the price. We ate in the restaurant both nights and had really good meals. The staff were efficient despite the place heaving with people . The only downside as far as we could see is... More

Stayed 2 nights at the hotel for a family celebration which was held in the function room, the whole place seemed rather dated and higgotty piggotty but as it is built in around 1540 ? its hardly suprising but our room was large, clean and a very comfortable bed the bathroom was fitted with a lovely big bath plus shower...
