This place could be so much better. We called in for coffee last week and the coffee was appalling - what does it take to make a good cup of coffee ? Even instant Nescafe would have been better than what we were served up. Also, the place smelt of cats so don't know if they have any but it... More

I would like to thank Richard and his staff for the wonderful meal we had yesterday at the Cross Keys. This is a beautiful 16th century Coaching Inn with lots of character in the building and the people. A three course meal was enjoyed after organizing a school reunion, and everyone said how tasty and hot their meal was. We... More

We held a meeting in the Cross Keys last week. The staff were attentive. Everyone was happy with their meals. The ale was good. The price was very reasonable. I accept that it is quite an old fashioned hotel but it appeared clean and friendly. If you want a good value meal then I don't think you can go too... More

I used the Cross Keys for a function, followed by a meal and then stayed overnight. The staff were so friendly, the food was really tasty and generously proportioned and the room was fine. The decor of the hotel is quirky and interesting, some aspects could do with a lick of paint, but these aspects all added to the charm... More

Stayed in Chatteris on business went to this pub/hotel for food. My Salmon was tasteless, veg overcooked. My colleague sent her Lamb back as it was so stringy could not be cut let alone eaten, second lot of lame arrived again very hard to cut then she had a piece lodged in her throat. This meal was disgusting and not... More

I do not agree with the negative comments below, from my experience. What I would say is this. It is an old inn and thus the decoration is in that vein. We were happy with the size and style of the room with a two poster bed. We were in the newer part of the building and had an ensuite... More

This pub still seems to be in a 70's time warp, chince everywhere, and poor quality furnishings in the restaurant, but a nice welcoming fire. Food seems to come from the 70's as well, although fresh sea bass offered as a special, not filleted, veg over cooked and soggy. Abbot ale was good. Shame this town is so much in... More

If you find your self around the Cambridge area and looking for a decent hotel with freindly service. The Cross Keys will not dissapoint you. The hotel has a restaurant that on a Wednesday and Thursday promotes a steak night for £6 pounds, so is excellent value for money. The breakfast offered a good selection and the owner cooks a...
