Stayed for a night at this premises on a B and B basis to celebrate a friends 50th birthday. Hectic arrival, we were late and very pushed for time but the staff were efficient and swiftly got us booked in and on our way to the 'do'. They were both very helpful and sorted us out quickly and effectively. Came... More

On arrival very surely lady booked us in asked where we could snack locally said "I don't know" great welcome.Got quoted £80 for a double and given a key on entering the room it was downright scruffy. Yesterday's guests rubbish in the bin one piece of toilet roll on the roller, quilt with no cover although an ancient counterpaine was... More

Returning to Chatteris where we had lived for three years, as Air Force couple stationed at Alconbury and Lakenheath in 1970, we made the Cross Keys our home for a week in May. So comfy, handy to shops, and friendly. Every morning breakfast cooked to order, bar snacks yummy, as were our meals. Room was perfect for our needs and... More

I visited this hotel for an evening meal with my family, we were welcomed by a friendly bar maid which happily gave us menu's (I ordered sirloin steak with cherry and Stilton sauce) and took our drink order. The food arrived in good time, however the sauce is not what I expected. The sauce that was supposed to be sherry... More

The family and I ate this evening at the Cross Keys Hotel, slightly limited evening menu but all sounding pleasant enough. We all went for the Sirloin which was well priced at I think £16.99. The plates where nice and hot and looked new, and the chips where fresh and double blanched. The onion rings where unfortunately of the reconstitution... More

We were just there for one night, as we had an evening event in Chatteris. It's a lovely hotel - very old and quaint. Our room was small but comfortable - could perhaps do with redecorating at some point, but you don't stay in a hotel like this to stare at the wallpaper! Staff were nice and friendly, and the... This place could be so much better. We called in for coffee last week and the coffee was appalling - what does it take to make a good cup of coffee ? Even instant Nescafe would have been better than what we were served up. Also, the place smelt of cats so don't know if they have any but it... More

I would like to thank Richard and his staff for the wonderful meal we had yesterday at the Cross Keys. This is a beautiful 16th century Coaching Inn with lots of character in the building and the people. A three course meal was enjoyed after organizing a school reunion, and everyone said how tasty and hot their meal was. We... More

We held a meeting in the Cross Keys last week. The staff were attentive. Everyone was happy with their meals. The ale was good. The price was very reasonable. I accept that it is quite an old fashioned hotel but it appeared clean and friendly. If you want a good value meal then I don't think you can go too... More
