Great food, good range & good quality. Would go back next time we were in the area. Very hospitable. Located in a quiet sleepy little town on the side of the main road but not mch traffic goes by!! There is accommodation there but we never stayed.

I stayed here three nights as a base to bag Ben Hope and Ben Klibreck, and it was a very good choice. It's extremely remote, 20 miles from Thurso in one direction and the same from Tongue in the other, but there is an austere beauty to it. The Inn itself looks unprepossessing from the outside, and the stairs to... More

Strathy Inn is a good spot if you like it remote. It's on the main road across the far north of Scotland, with Hielan' coos wandering about outside! Handy as a stopping off place when travelling to Orkney. The restaurant requires going outside and in a different door, but otherwise is good. Strathy Point nearby is a spectacular walk on... More

What a lovely welcome from our hosts. We were the only diners that night, but the home cooked meal was absolutely delicious - both main course and dessert. We were very glad we had chosen this inn for our overnight stay on the North Coast of Scotland. Beds comfy and good breakfast the next morning set us up well for... More

We got a warm welcome at the Strathy Inn. Heather and Craig are obviously working very hard at making the Strathy Inn the delightful establishment it is. We had the family room (although there was only two of us) and it felt like a suite. Delicious food served in the bar along with a good selection of local beers, whiskys,... More

This was our stop for the second night of the JOGLE We had arrived early afternoon at a cold ,foggy John O'Groats and the team started their one thousand mile bike ride in very inclement weather. As support I went ahead and found the Strathy Inn on a remote section of the A836. I was warmly welcomed by our hostess Heather... More

I stayed for one night whilst cycling from John o' Groats to Land's End. The accommodation is comfortable and adequate rather than cute or luxurious, but understandably so at the price. The couple that run the place are lovely. They help make the bar a friendly place to spend the evening-I spent two hours after dinner swapping trading tales with... More

We got a warm welcome at the Strathy Inn. We had a walk before dinner - on the advice of our hostess driving for about five minutes and then walking to Strathy Point. Wild flowers, lambs, rabbits – and if you’re lucky apparently whales and dolphins can be sighted. We had another lovely walk before breakfast next morning by driving... More

A warm and friendly welcome after a long day cycling, secure lock up for bicycles and pot of tea and biscuits on arrival. Rooms very comfortable and clean and everything you could need is there. Lovely little bar / restaurant and the food was first class and well priced . Breakfasts excellent and had that rare commodity in Scotland ........ More

Having ridden my motorcycle in gale force winds and hail from Ullapool, my destination - The Strathy Inn - was a welcome sight! The welcome from Heather and Craig did not disappoint! My room had a lovely comfortable bed (crucial after a day in the saddle!) plus TV, Drying Stand, Boot Tray, Tea/Coffee/Kettle etc and a VERY spacious en suite... More
