Overall, I would say that this Inn is typical of its type, warm friendly hosts, good breakfast, but some limitations. Unfortunately for us, we arrived at the Inn some three days after the owners returned from their holidays. The evening meals that were provided, whilst tasty, were straight out of the freezer with no fresh produce available. Wifi was available,... More

Thank you for taking the time to review your stay at the Strathy Inn. We welcome all customer feedback, especially if it helps us to improve the service we offer. We are glad that the Strathy Inn met your expectations for the type of accommodation provided, namely, a family run, 3 star, traditional Inn. We are disappointed, however, that unlike... More

We had a lovely meal. The menu has several choices blending local produce with a nice twist. We were looked after well and enjoyed a few drinks in front of the fire. I had the roasted bree and the venison casserole followed by the spectacular Orkney cheesecake. The service is good and altogether we had a great evening.

This was a lovely little B &B, clean and tidy, wonderful host who knew the area and generous breakfast with homemade jams (rhubarb and ginger jam). Unfortunately we were only there for one evening and it suited our need perfectly.

Thank you for taking the time to write such a nice review and I'm glad you enjoyed Heather's rhubarb and ginger jam, made with rhubarb from the garden, All our bathrooms do have generous sized showers and not baths. We appreciate that some people prefer a traditional bath, but most visitors these days seem to prefer a shower, so when... More

We stayed a night on the way to Orkney and again on our return a week later. A great place to break the journey. The room was well fitted out with a large comfy bed and well appointed en-suite. We had dinner on both occasions which was delicious. I would recommend the Beef and mushroom pie with Orkney Dark Island... More

Great food, good range & good quality. Would go back next time we were in the area. Very hospitable. Located in a quiet sleepy little town on the side of the main road but not mch traffic goes by!! There is accommodation there but we never stayed.

I stayed here three nights as a base to bag Ben Hope and Ben Klibreck, and it was a very good choice. It's extremely remote, 20 miles from Thurso in one direction and the same from Tongue in the other, but there is an austere beauty to it. The Inn itself looks unprepossessing from the outside, and the stairs to... More

Strathy Inn is a good spot if you like it remote. It's on the main road across the far north of Scotland, with Hielan' coos wandering about outside! Handy as a stopping off place when travelling to Orkney. The restaurant requires going outside and in a different door, but otherwise is good. Strathy Point nearby is a spectacular walk on... More

What a lovely welcome from our hosts. We were the only diners that night, but the home cooked meal was absolutely delicious - both main course and dessert. We were very glad we had chosen this inn for our overnight stay on the North Coast of Scotland. Beds comfy and good breakfast the next morning set us up well for... More

We got a warm welcome at the Strathy Inn. Heather and Craig are obviously working very hard at making the Strathy Inn the delightful establishment it is. We had the family room (although there was only two of us) and it felt like a suite. Delicious food served in the bar along with a good selection of local beers, whiskys,... More

This was our stop for the second night of the JOGLE We had arrived early afternoon at a cold ,foggy John O'Groats and the team started their one thousand mile bike ride in very inclement weather. As support I went ahead and found the Strathy Inn on a remote section of the A836.
