Went to The Bluebell for a meal after Goodwood Revival. Have been for the last three years. No atmosphere, half empty. When we asked about any specials we were told by the disinterested waitress to go and look at the board. We saw two couples come in to enquire if they had a table available only to be clearly ignored... More

its always disappointing when someone says they won't return to see us again, especially when they say the food was good. Revival is such a busy time, and on all the Revival evenings we were fully booked plus we did extra walk in tables as early tables finished, so I am not sure how you can say we were half... More

This is the village pub 'updated' to a restaurent, with rooms, not a traditional B&B. As we stayed at a weekend access was easy at any time, and we were given a key to the front door in case we stayed out late. Our room was small and hot especially as it was over the kitchen, next to the extractor... More

I read with horror the recent comments of this property but had no choice as found many of the other B and Bs in the area were full, but having been there with my wife, can not understand what all the fuss was about! The staff were pleasant, the twin room clean and fresh with very comfortable beds, and the... More

It's interesting to read all the comments for this so called B&B. As many have already mentioned it is well over priced, bathroom was well in need of an upgrade (although I have been told by the owner that the shower was only 4wks old) when it clearly wasn't. My husband was handed the card machine on arrival to pay... More

Well located for walkers enjoying the South Downs Way and needing a night stop-over. The Bluebell is not directly on the South Downs Way but is easily accessible from it. It is on quite a busy road, so if this is going to bother you I would request a room at the back. The rooms are well kitted-out with tea/coffee... More

We had a very enjoyable stay at this lovely B&B. Had a wonderful dinner with friends after a great day at Goodwood. We had a lovely room although shared bathroom (did not have to share on this occasion) and an excellent full English breakfast in the morning. A couple of things could have made our stay even better though -... More

Room was small and painted a very dark blue so became even more oppressive. The kitchen / boiler vent was right outside the window and hummed loudly all night. The toiletries provided were half used and cheap. The shower tray was stained and dirty. Breakfast started at 08.30 but no food was served until almost 09:00 which is far too... More

We enjoyed a delicious lunch with four elderly friends, the staff were helpful and the food on the whole very good. The bread served could have been fresher it was a little dry and two of the puddings were still very frozen and should have been taken out of the freezer earlier. I would certainly hope again.

Thank you for your review on your recent visit, I am pleased that you enjoyed yourself in the most part. I am sorry you felt our home made Focaccia bread was a little dry, it generally is very light, but we do put it through the oven for 30 seconds to warm it a little before serving. we will watch... We were early coming off the SDWay and needed to fill in time before heading to our B&B. Ordered a cappuccino, double shot. It was served in a small cup and was an acceptable caffeine fix. But,upon paying, we were charged 4 pounds! A single is 3 pounds, plus one pound for extra shot... We mentioned politely to the very pleasant girl... More

I am sorry that you feel that our prices are too high, I do try to keep everything we offer at a competitive price. Our coffee price is the same as it was before I bought The Bluebell, although I now use fresh ground coffee as apposed to the coffee pods used previously. with regard to the extra cost for... More

Walking the South Downs Way, so arrived tires at 4pm. Simon was very welcoming, showed us to nice room(4) which was more than adequate. Nice hot shower. Dinner was brilliant. Busy restaurant with lovely food and great waitress service. Probably the best dinner I have had in years. Would definitely drive 25 miles to enjoy that again. Yes the B&B... More
