This was not a very welcoming venue. We were very cold and the heating was only put on when we commented on how cold we were. The food was very average pub grub, not fresh, appeared to be microwaved from frozen and the portions were meagre. All in all it was Hobson's choice so we made the best of it!

Stayed here for a night with my wife. First impressions were okay, the room itself was clean and spacious for the price we paid. I found the bed to be pretty comfortable, the room however got pretty warm at night and unfortunately there is a constant smell of fried food which gets a bit overpowering if you are planning to... Visited this pub for dinner with my partner and came away pretty satisfied with the overall experience. The Groupon voucher softened the financial blow on some over-priced items on the menu - such as nearly £9 for Tempura Prawns as a starter. The problem with charging so much for food is that people associate other things with pricey food -... More

Enjoyed my one night stay in a lovely large room, shared bathroom was not a problem. Breakfast was good, but a little too much vinegar in my poached eggs. 8.30 for breakfast is a little late to be able to get anywhere by 9. I will go back.

The rooms are nice and clean with tea/coffee facilities. Some have shared bathroom which is also nice and clean with toilettries. The beds are nice and comfortable with two pillows each. our room was a twin with flat screen television, small wardrobe with a real fire place as decor. Breakfast was a treat with a selection of juices, cereals and... More

We enjoyed our short stay at this nicely refurbished pub and B&B. The food was great and the owner very attentive and welcoming. The rooms are well appointed and very good value for the area. Great base for walking or cycling the many footpaths and bridleways near by.

Was a bit wary at first in staying due to some reviews but was thankful my friend from chichester assured me it was a good B&B to stay. Staff were nice and very welcoming. Our room was just the right size. It was clean. We had an excellent 2 night stay. It was very accessible as it is in the... More

On our recent return after a couple of years we were dismayed to find the unkempt feel about The Bluebell....... The previous owners put in so much effort and it always showed...... We did not enjoy our experience on this visit and the food was far too 'fancy' looking for us to enjoy...we prefer simple well cooked food as we... More

I am sorry you felt that your experience of The Bluebell was not as enjoyable as when the previous owners were here. with 28 years of experience in the industry, I would like to think I have some clue of what I am doing, although I know nobody knows everything and I also know that as much as we would... Went to The Bluebell for a meal after Goodwood Revival. Have been for the last three years. No atmosphere, half empty. When we asked about any specials we were told by the disinterested waitress to go and look at the board. We saw two couples come in to enquire if they had a table available only to be clearly ignored... More

its always disappointing when someone says they won't return to see us again, especially when they say the food was good. Revival is such a busy time, and on all the Revival evenings we were fully booked plus we did extra walk in tables as early tables finished, so I am not sure how you can say we were half... More

This is the village pub 'updated' to a restaurent, with rooms, not a traditional B&B. As we stayed at a weekend access was easy at any time, and we were given a key to the front door in case we stayed out late. Our room was small and hot especially as it was over the kitchen, next to the extractor... More
