Booked a night here as a stopover on the way to a ski holiday because it was convenient to the autoroute. We were agreeably surprised by the lovely location on the market square, next to the cathedral and market hall. Wish we'd had more time to spend exploring the town on Sunday morning. Staff very welcoming and friendly, rooms clean... More

Perfect little stop gap on a long journey. Gorgeous little village, the hotel faces a cathedral. Staff were very friendly and helpful as I mumbled my way through my poor French. Food in the restaurant was superb. Lovely place.

...in this case... What a well thought out place to stay and eat. I arrived without a reservation on my bike and got the last room in the place....courtesy of the very welcoming hostess. Spacious room, light, good bed. A great dinner with good and relaxed service in a lovely open-plan dining area - full but not feeling packed due... More

Lovely hotel with restaurant right on square facing the church. Does not have its own parking, so If possible, park along side the hotel. Parking on main square is short term (disque blue), but not available Friday morning due to the market. Reception does not open until 5pm but it's all part of the restaurant which is open lunchtime 12... More

Stayed in this hotel for 1 night. Room very small and dark. Unable to even read a book without taking off the lampshades of the two bedside tables. One other table lamp in the entire room which gave a very poor light. Television was only French channels which, being in a tourist area, there is usually at least one UK... More

The hotel seems also to call the restaurant " Restaurant les Halles" as the Hotel is right next to the Halles where the market is centred on Friday mornings. We did not stay in the hotel but visited the restaurant on our last night of the holiday. We had tried to get a table on the terrace (actually an apron... More

Really nice food at sensible prices, however don't expect too much from the rooms, for us there was a massive TV so we able to watch the opening ceremony of the olympics. This was before we watched the most amazing electric storm followed by heavy rain, much needed as we were at the top of this very old building. Husband... More

Auxonne is a gem of a town with lots of old world charm. Hotel Corbeau was a great place to stay while visiting the area. Of special note, the staff is extremely attentive and pleasant. The room was compact, but nice and the internet connection was free. Because it sits on the main plaza, there is lots (but not too... More

Hotel Corbeau in Auxonne is a great stopover on the way from Calais to the French Alps and only 10 minutes from the motorway. It is a friendly, family run hotel in the centre of the pretty town of Auxonne. Easy to find - just head to "centre ville". Rooms were comfortable and spotless, good breakfast and secure parking. Two... More
