Have stayed at Kilmarnock Arms a number of times over the past decade or so and enjoyed it as much as ever. Close proximity to world class Cruden Bay Golf Club. Stayed in the newer "cottages" across the road from main hotel which have very comfortable beds, large flat screen tv, great shower and large, clean bathroom. Free wifi worked... More

After having a ganders at Spain's castle, we stopped in here for some grub. Sea bass, pork belly, Peterhead haddock, salmon and haddock risotto - all totally smashing and well worth the reasonable prices we paid for each dish. Nice tidy interior/decor, very comfy and welcoming. Staff friendly and very helpful. Must make a point of staying over sometime. Would... More

Welcome. First class. Room. Great! Very comfy bed. Reception. So relaxing by the fire! Food. The chef knows his way round a kitchen let me tell you! Staff. They were all brilliant. If I was looking for something to fault out of this visit, then I would be doing just that. Looking. I would probably still be looking......

After a windswept walk from Cruden Bay to the Bullers of Buchan and back, we called into the Kilmarnock Arms for lunch. On a Saturday lunch time, the place was very busy, including several family groups, but we were quickly seated and given menus. We ordered two paninis at £6.95 each which were served with home made coleslaw and a... More

My husband and I stayed at this hotel the night before our wedding ceremony at Slains Castle. When the staff found out, they upgraded us to a larger room with a patio so that we'd have other options should it have rained. Luckily it didn't. The room was really great - spacious, with heated floors, a large bathroom, and a... More

Old, tired. Try dragging your suitcases up to the top floor with the spiral staircase. After arriving, a small "inverted V" room, guaranteed for you to hit your head against the wall when getting up from the bed. A TV the size of an old PC screen. One free electrical outlet in the whole room. Parking was extremely limited. Breakfast... More

Dear Terfra1, I was very sorry to hear that you did not particularly enjoy your stay at the hotel. We fully take your comments on board, however we feel that it is important to note that the hotel was built in the early 1880’s, which to some extent has it’s good & it’s bad points. On the positive side it... More

Visited this excellent country hotel travelling on business. Super rooms with a comfy bed, quality en suite etc just 20 minutes out of Aberdeen at a realistic room rate. Food was good but can't comment on bar as I never used it this trip. This place has loads of character and I will detonate!y visit again. A hidden gem. My... More

I arrange an annual golf trip for 10 golfers and we have stayed at this hotel for the last 2 years. We have stayed at some of the best hotels in the UK including Turnberry but this team offer the best customer service we have experienced - nothing is too much trouble. The food is excellent, it's amazing value for... More

So, when you have got the perfect golf trip in your mind and you have been looking forward to it for months the last thing you want is to get the flu the week before!! Several nights in a hotel feeling terrible when all you want to be is at home is nothing short of a nightmare...... .... Accept this... More

Myself and my husband visited the Killie on valentines night, we had a superb meal, top quality. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The dining room is lovely with great old photos lining the walls, which are very interesting to see, decor with a difference. We will be back more often.
