This was our 3rd visit to this one time 2-Star Michelin Relais and Chateau, now down to 1-star and no longer an R and C. These changes in status hardly seem to matter in view of the homely luxuriousness and outstanding gastronomy that this establishment continues to provide. It is located in the back of beyond, and I am not... More

Spent one night here to break up a long drive. Great location, very pretty and tranquil. Rooms were rather small but for an overnight stay it was sufficient. Didnt eat here used their restaurant in the village which was great.

After a long drive from the channel on a very hot day we arrived at this little gem in the woods near Limoges. We knew we could be in for something special but nothing could have prepared us for the amazing dinner we enjoyed. Some highlights: Foie Gras, Turbot en croute with a tomato Bernaise sauce, veal with mushrooms, coffee... More

We recently returned here after an absence of a decade or more. It is a stunningly beautiful place, even on a miserable day: quite enchanting, as the photos suggest. The rooms in the annexe (mill house) remain interesting and good value - although cursed by that great French affliction: darkness. Why create a seating area if it is too dark... More

On first impressions this hotel appears to be something out of a fairy tale. It's long driveway opens onto an idyllic lake setting with surrounding French country-style main buildings and guest houses. The pictures are all true, the setting is breathtaking and as serene their website would have you believe. The restaurant is also amazing, however may be a bit... More

I direct my review towards potential English / British guests, as I suspect this will not apply to our French cousins. I live in Jersey so visit France a lot. I also enjoy the odd weekend as a treat to Michelin standard relais et chateaux hotels around France. This was one of three hotels we stayed at on this holiday... More

big cheers for the old cuisine style which is used here. Before the moulin we stayed at a so called 'top cuisine restaurant' in St.Emillion where everything was spoiled by adding a sausage in every dish. Very kind service by the owners and its staff. Altough we stayed on an cold and foggy february day we enjoyed every minute of... More

Dear friends booked a late gastronomic tasting lunch as a special treat during a recent visit to their home, roughly 2 hours from Au Moulin de la Gorce. It was a lovely ride through the countryside. We only dined and did not stay at the hotel; however, I spoke with a diner who loved her room. We arrived in a... More

We stayed at le Moulin de la gorce anticipating a real treat. My partner got terribly sick after diner and we suspected the food as we had sea food and fish. In the morning we asked the very detail of the menu items and the chef informed us that the 'feuillete de langoustine contained as well a piece of tourteau... More

Extremely nice hotel in beautiful setting. Food absolutely superb but expensive. In the middle of nowhere so car essential. Very little to do in immediate area if bad weather and unfortunately it rained most of the time.
