My family and I made the trek from Dallas to Lajitas. The Lajitas Golf Resort and Spa was a great oasis. The accommodations were tasteful. The golf and spa were exceptional. The food was average. This is not a "high-end" resort with all the bells and whistles, but certainly a wonderful oasis for the area.

The best hotel in Terlingua isn't even IN Terlingua, it's 12 miles West down Hwy 170. Two pools, best golf course in Texas, and cool "cowboy chic" rooms. We took advantage of a summer special, and the price was less than the white-box hotels down the road.

We stayed 4 nights. About the swimming pool, there was not enough deck chairs, only 7 for a 100 rooms hotel ! We arrived on a saturday and as the swimming pool was crowded, we only could use chairs. The mattresses on the deck chairs are very dirty and old. Apparently there was nobody to clean the pool and the... More

This would not be a bad review, except for one thing: the entire town and surrounding areas of Lajitas experienced a power outage during my stay in July, and this "resort" has no generator. That means no air conditioning in the middle of the Texan desert. And the windows in the rooms are BOLTED SHUT (can you say 'fire hazard'?)... More

My husband and I enjoyed the Stay & Play package in early August. Although it was considered the "slow season" and the afternoons were pretty toasty, we had an excellent trip! The food was wonderful (breakfast, lunch and dinner), and we were always served promptly, even at 7:15 am before we played golf. On our last night, we ordered the... More

A group of 16 of us stayed here July 31-Aug 3 for a birthday weekend. I blocked rooms to obtain a lower rate and hopefully have us all close together. Although the rate was lower, there seems to be some trouble getting our rooms together. The staff was very good at communicating with me via email however, and there were... More

Silly us. We think of a "resort" as a place interesting and comfortable enough to warrant an extended stay. At least that has been our experience. Accordingly, we booked three nights and considered this resort to be one of the main features of our vacation to Big Bend Country. Their promotional material says they will book river trips for their... More

We ventured into the Big Bend area on a lark. Reservations at Lajitas Golf and Spa. Beautiful property and great great rooms. The restaurant/food/service cannot be beat! The golf course is out of this world! What a gem int he middle of a desert! We thoroughly enjoyed our time there, but we encourage people who go there to make sure... More

My family enjoyed two days/nights at this resort. It is comfortable, inviting and remote. The dining saloon and cafe had great food. The golf was amazing!!! The views, fairways and greens were in pristine condition despite the very hot weather. If you are In the area Big Bend National Park area, I recommend this lodging.

Love Lajitas! This was our second trip to the Maverick Ranch RV Park and has definitely become one of our favorites. If you're looking for a unique and memorable location, this place is it! From Big Bend State and National Parks, to surrounding outdoor excursions (mountain biking, equestrian riding, river trips), to the beautiful golf course in the mountains, this... More
