4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 15, 2013 NEW

The hotel exterior was a bit of a surprise because the front looks like an old wooden building and the rear, which faces the golf course, is a more modern stone construction. The lobby is large and decorated in a western theme. Our room was on the second floor and there is NOT an elevator, however, there are employees to... More

My fiancee and I headed to this resort after spending the previous five days in a "camping cabin" with our five year old grandson. We wanted to treat ourselves to a bit of luxury after "roughing it" at a campground. Our goal was met to find outstanding lodging near Big Bend National Park. We didn't arrive until midnight and the... More

We stayed here for our three day visit to Big Bend National Park. Its reputation is of being the upscale lodging for the area. The rooms were nearly as promised: large (we stayed in a room in the "officers quarters"), furnished appropriate to the west Texas theme (but somewhat worn), and with a very comfortable bed. WiFi was free and... More

The resort was beyond my expectations. Stayed in the officers quarters. The room vas very nice and had a separate room with couch and tv. It overlooked the golf course. It also had a huge walk in shower that was awesome. There is a lot to see on the grounds there, but did not get to explore it all. There... More

Beautiful, peaceful place! We stayed a long weekend and loved it. The staff are all super friendly and helpful. Wish they had a bar in the afternoons by the pool, but that's my only suggestion. The grounds were beautiful and the rooms were very comfortable and nice. The decor is nice and the patio at the restaurant is awesome! Christina's... More

The hotel is located on the border with Mexico, in the middle of large deserted land. We can imagine how hard it is to maintain such a hotel. However they managed to keep it in good shape and order. The room is comfortable, and with no doubt quite. The golf course comes to drastic contrast to the surrounding gobi, with... More

This place seems like it is trying to be a top rated hotel but does not quite make it. Our room was nice, but the French doors led to a balcony with no railing. It was upstairs and there was no elevator. The stairs were steep. There is nowhere else around, so this is where you have to eat. It... More

The golf course is spectacular. The rooms are nice (upgraded king room) but felt a little pricey. Service was excellent. Dining was very good. Views of thr mountains and how the resort if nestled in them is great.

Considering this is one of the only places to stay in the Big Bend area, and considering the alternatives, this place is wonderful. To call this place a resort is a stretch. It resembles an old western town. We used a living social special so we probably received the lowest prices room available. I am sure there are some nice... More

Lots of positives here but some slight drawbacks. First off, the location is spectacular. The grounds are very nice and the course looks awesome, although we didn't have a chance to play. There are a lot of interesting activities available, so next time we'll try to stay for more than one night and take advantage of the amenities and activities.... More
