Stopped here overnight on a motorbiking tour. Great accommodation and food with more than a touch of history and character. The finish and feel of the place is genuinely unique. The rooms are nice (if quirky), beds very comfortable (memory foam), communal bathroom was modern and clean, off street parking, free fast wifi, great food, friendly and helpful staff... not... More

Paulsens hotel is highly recommended if you want to stay in a little hotel with a very special atmosphere, if you want to feel very welcome and if you like a tasteful breakfast in lovely surroundings. The hotel is beautifully decorated and you feel you have been in a time-machine. The room was nice and with very comfortable beds. Shared... More

We stayed here after arriving from Kristiansand for one night, and it was really great. We felt at home, very good beds, nice location. Very charming, old Norweign style interior in an wonderful old manor. Next time we definitely stay here longer!

Paulsens Hotell was one of the places where we stayed a night during our round-trip through southern Norway. The welcome set the tone and mood for the rest of the time we spent there: warm and friendly. This atmosphere was maybe the most remarkable thing to mention about the place. You never felt like just a customer of the service... More

Great atmosphere and a great service! I can definitely recommend this hotel to couples, families but also for travelers who pass through. The owner treats you like a four star hotel including a delicious breakfast!

We came her by chance, driving from Kristiansand to Bergen looking for a place to sleep. While the pictures online of the staff dressed in and old maid costume seemed a bit odd, compared to the other "normal" boring ugly hotels in the area it seemed much better so we decided to give it a try. Very quaint and old... More

I've been driving past this charming little hotel many times, and decided one day that next time, I'll book a room there. And what a fantastic hotel it is! You're going around 100 years back in time as soon as you open the door, and what a nice feeling that was! No sterile white walls, modern design or high-tech gadgets... More

We heve never been to this place before, and just by going through the doors we were more th 70 years back in time. The staff were amazing, friendly, professional and look after you in very nice way. The rooms, being decorated in the early 1900 style, had excellent beds, sharing toilet and bathroom with other room, was no problem... More

We visited Paulsens Hotell in early June, and were overwhelmed by this charming hotel and its staff. Personally, I appreciated how the entire house was decorated with the inspiration of its origin in the late 1800s, down to the smallest details! We received impeccable service from host Jimmy, and enjoyed the high-quality, home cooked breakfast - decorated with beautiful flowers.... More

Enjoyed our stay at this old and interesting hotel. Excellent breakfast and guide to the history of the house by the proprietor. Very convenient location close to Lindesnes (the southern most part of Norway) and for traveling to/from the ferry at Kristiansand.
