The swimming pool area and grounds are very nice. The room was small but clean. There is no elevator and some of the rooms are two flights up so be prepared. The breakfast was very good. We had thought that we could walk into town for dinner, but after walking into town during daylight hours we took a taxi back... More

Charming building with lots of character. Cozy bed and easy parking. The owner took extra time to show us where to park in Volterra and what to see. The breakfast was amazing. Bruschetta and a spinich quiche, juices, meats and cheeses. Lots of breads and pastries made there, and a great capuccino and hot chocolate. This is the best breakfast... More

This B&B combines medieval intrigue with complete luxury, including spectacular hilltop views, a pool, cosy rooms, all set amidst a pleasant garden and surrounding olive grove. The hosts are obviously so passionate about making this an outstanding place to stay, and are incredibly warm and welcoming. They served, hands down, the best breakfast, complete with home made cakes and breads,... More

My wife and I selected this hotel after passing by a couple of years earlier, whilst visiting Volterra for the day on a cruise excursion. Our recollection was of a classically styled Tuscan villa in a superb location - we were not disappointed. This wonderful, renovated coaching inn has the most unimaginable views of Tuscany, being located close to the... More

This small hotel was in a gorgeous location with beautiful grounds and a well-kept swimming pool. The owner speaks good English and was really helpful with information about local activities and places to eat. He has an extensive collection of materials about the region to share. The place itself has been an inn for many centuries. A great breakfast is... More

Great selection for breakfast, creamy cappucino aswell as chocolate croissant to die for. Cosy rooms, awesome view, very accomodating hosts who gave us tons of maps and tips for where to go and what to do. Half an hour walk from Volterra, a steep climb though but good for excercise. Calm and peaceful surroundings. Would definately go back.

At first we were disappointed that this hotel was so far out of town (although there were some visitors who walked into town, it is a steep climb) but it did have the advantage of easy parking for the night. The room was a little disappointing as well with rather out of date drapes and covers but it had a... More

Our hosts were wonderful, very accommodating. Breakfast is great, grounds are well maintained, rooms very adequate. We arrived late in the evening and were warmly greeted. Excellent recommendation for dinner - Bado Restaurant. Don't miss this quaint Italian gem.

We visited in August/September 2013. This was our second visit to Villa Rioddi, the last one was 2003. We will not leave it as long again and will definitely be back soon. The Hotel/Villa is run by Mirella and her son Luca. They both were very attentive and went out of their way to ensure our time spent there was... More
