The best part of this small hotel of course is how close it is to everything. Tucked in need the end of a road and steps to shops, colosseum, restaurants, it is a comfortable haven to stop in and rest during your day. There is a small lobby area and place to congregate with your party before you set out... More

We spent two nights here with a tour group. I would have picked the hotel based on location alone: it's on the main street running through the town. I suppose in a town this small any location is convenient, but this was especially so just because it was on the one main street! Our very large room with one queen... More

Conveniently located in the heart of the old city. In my opinion the price per room is too overpriced. So high price should be subject to improvement of the breakfast, as a very small selection of food spoils hotel image. The staff was friendly and very nice

Volterra is a magical, medieval town in the Tuscan hills that is must see. This hotel captures small "e" elegance that is warm and gracious. Our room was huge: large comfy bed, desk, wardrobe, and even a twin bed in the corner. Bathrooms newly renovated and also spacious with toasty towels from the heated towel rack (appreciated on the cool... More

We stayed a total of 6 nights at this hotel, with a side trip for 3 days in between. They stored our luggage for us with no problem. Being off season the hotel wasn't full so we received a room upgrade at no additional charge. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The evening desk person, Stephania, spoke english and was... More

We had a nice room without a view in the maze of hallways comprising La Locanca. It was spacious and comfortable with a nice ambience --about what you would expect in a small provincial city. Volterra is small enough that everything is close by or not more than 10 minutes of walking. The hotel is at the northern gate of... More

Had a wonderful experience staying with our group of 20+ people at Hotel La Locanda! The hotel staff met our tour bus at the parking area, loaded our bags into a van and drove them into the city for us. They also were very accommodating of our last minute room changes. The entire staff has been very pleasant and always... More

La Locanda was not particularly clean, the breakfasts were subpar, and staff was not helpful. When I asked for a sewing kit (which guests should take for granted in a 4 star hotel), they did not have one and I had to search the town for a needle and thread. I understand that Italian hotels try to save on electricity,... More

This charming hotel is in side the old city walls. We parked about 200 m downhill in a pay parking zone at € 10 for 24 hours. You have to go back each day, and you must have coins for the machine. Our room was nicely decorated, comfortable, and had a good bathroom. Breakfast was very good, and the staff... More

Stayed here for one night. A bit disappointed when walked into reception but was pleasantly surprised by the room. A good size, clean and with a great size bathroom with a Jacuzzi. Arrived a little early but we were left into the room anyway but the worrying thing was the cleaners were still cleaning and all the room doors were... More
