We liked the hotel's location in one of the main streets. We were given a room away from the main street which would have made it quieter. The room was attractively decorated. It was situated on the first floor beyond the pleasant sitting area. We stayed for 3 nights and there was always an excellent breakfast. We made use of... More

The good news...Etruria is in an ideal location. The bad news...everything else. Upon entering, the smell is musty, slightly sewer-y. The young woman at front desk was polite, but the other woman running the desk was rude...you felt you were bothering her if you asked a simple question. Literally the only time in a 3 week trip, and 7 other... More

The absolutely central location of this hotel made up for a lot that the hotel lacked, especially since we were only staying one night. However, I was expecting much more based on TripAdvisor reviews. Our room was the epitome of mediocrity. Although perfectly clean, it was a bit drab feeling. The bathroom had ants and the shower caused flooding. Also,... More

We were very disappointed after reading all the great things about this hotel on tripadvisor. The hotel is ideally located in Volterra and the breakfast was pretty good. We didn't have soap or glasses in the bathroom and the shower was a trip. The shower head didn't fit in the wall bracket and had to be held the entire time.... More

We have been to Volterra before and stayed outside of the city. For difference we chose this hotel to be in the centre and could not have done better. There are several car parks that service the city (the city has limited vehicle access). The hotel staff will provide the detail of where to park and details to access the... More

We loved Volterra, and the hotel was wonderful. Lisa, one of the owners, was so friendly and helpful. The breakfast was AMAZING. The best breakfast we had in all of Italy. We enjoyed the breakfast area and chatting with other guests. Our room had a balcony, which we loved having. The view from the rooftop terrace was exceptional. Some of... More

I can't say more than the other review didn't already mentioned, we had a room facing the street, yes it is noisy but charming so closed off your window at night and turn on the fan (though I am a vast sleeper so it didn't bother me), the service is EXCELLENT (notice the caps lock? Yeah that's because the service... More

We had a room with high windows opening on the street, busy with people walking & talking (Volterra is limited access for cars). It took a a while before we found that it was best to close the windows and shutters at night, activate the fan (excellent details!), for an undisturbed rest (we are no early risers). But it was... The hotel itself was fine, the rooms were decent sized and clean, good shower and some wardrobe space (although shelves/drawers wouldn't go amiss!) Breakfast was a real treat, the best we had in Tuscany. The garden was also a lovely feature. For the location & price I would say you can't go wrong. My only gripe - I booked in... More

My family (me, my parents, sisters, and my husband) visited Volterra a couple of weeks ago, and by strange circumstances ended up here. Let me just say, WOW. The rooms were great, and the location is perfect, right in the middle of everything. There is a rooftop garden which is AMAZING, and so pretty. It smelled only of tons of... More
