You cannot find a better location for visiting Volterra than The Hotel San Lino. While it's staff were professional and attentive (not the bubbly B&B kind) but we were very happy with our accommodations. More

This hotel is a wonderful venue for your Volterra stay: it is central and easily accessible (enter the NO ENTRY! Medieval gate and within metres you are there). The rooms were fine (basic to high quality) with a great swimming pool, lookout (that can easily double as a work-out / yoga area), and a great breakfast setting. Super friendly staff... More

Oct 29 and Oct 30, 2011 we stayed at Hotel San Lino in Volterra. We loved the hotel. It is a convent converted into a hotel which made it even more interesting. We had superior rooms which were very nice and comfortable. The only negative was that the shower was a little hard to get into because of the door... More

We were there for 1 night and was because of its location. Good for families and walking distance everywhere. Its right smack in the middle of the ancient and very old town. Service was good, breakfast was enough. The only thing was that, according to the hotel website, it said that it has wi-fi but it didn't say in the... More

Since Volterra is so incredibly steep, and many of the streets so narrow, you really don't want to be be driving too far into this town, especially if your rental car has a manual gear box! So this hotel is the best location to book - just inside the city walls, with indoor parking available, San Lino is an ideal... More

the hotel is in a great location inside the walls of the town, and within walking distance of everything you would wish to see in volterra. the rooms were simply furnished but quite dark, we were told that none of the rooms had baths only showers. the pool area is pretty, and the courtyard is a pleasant place for breakfast,... Stayed here at the end of august whilst attending an amazing wedding just outside volterra and this place was just what we needed. The hotel is about 5 mins walk from the town square so location couldn't be any better. Hotel was peaceful and a perfect base from which to explore tuscany. We would quite often get a few hours... Location couldn't be better close to any amenities, you can book parking slots directly at the hotel, which is helpful in Volterra. The hotel is ok : clean, staff speaking English, but the rooms are very simply equipped, with passing guests on the floors being noisy due to poor door insulation and stone floors. The pool is a big plus... More

I stayed 2 nights in this hotel, as part of a package tour group. The hotel is in a rather narrow street inside the City walls, but in a less busy part, about 10 minutes walk from the largest square and the shops and restaurant. It is not possible for buses to drive to it, so our bus needed to... More
