We'd booked another hotel, but were told it was fully booked on arrival. The owner drove us to the Balletti. For a town as beautiful as Viterbo, the surroundings are grim. The hotel's located in between the train station and a highway. We checked the room, it was ok. Booking.com stated a EU70 rate. It should be cheaper to book... More

We had a warm welcome at reception,by a charming lady who gave us very helpful information concerning Viterbo and its most interesting locations. However, I was less impressed by the room which had a spartan feel to it with unattractive plastic flooring and damaged wallpaper, making the place appear to far less upmarket than the reception area implied. The walls are thin (r-e-a-l-l-y thin) between all the rooms in the hotel, so bring ear plugs. The rooms have carpeted floors which, at the time of our one night stay, did not appear to have been deep cleaned in a very long time, so bring travel slippers. When i stayed here 10 years ago this was a great hotel. Now it is old and tired. While not dirty it is in need of basic improvements. Stayed for one night during a driving tour of europe. Once found, I found this to be a nice relaxing hotel, close to the centre with modern rooms. Breakfast was very good. Nothing hot bar the coffee, but nice cakes and pastries. Slept well. Oh, and check out the mini bar. One of the cheapest I've ever seen, ever.
