We stayed for 5 nights with our 3 teenage children and had a superb experience. Our room was cool and quiet (at the back of the hotel) with thick stone walls - I think this was once a monastery . We had a suite with the living area containing wooden daybeds for our children. There was a kitchen area with... More

this was a fantastic reasonably price to stay while exploring the Amalfi coast. It is a bit off the trail up a very steep road. The property is very big. We got a lovely room w a nice size balcony. The had a wedding the second night we were there so we're trapped in our room. But the owners brought... More

We broke off from our main holiday for 2 nights here to have a base to visit Sorrento, Capri and Pompeii. Excellent place - very well run - very friendly owners (and little scottie dog). Food was of a high standard. We stayed in an old apartment, which had fridge, cooking rings and cutlery and crockery. Big thick stone walls,... More

Having stayed in Sorrento for 6 nights with all the facilities close at hand - when we arrived at Villa della Porta we were worried we were in the middle of nowhere (we travelled by train so no car). However, this wasn't a problem. We were driven down to the train station and picked up by the owners when we... More

This is a beautiful restored villa with a special ambience. We had a beautiful bedroom with a big balcony and a lovely view towards Vesuvius. There is a beautiful garden and clean swimming pool. Free parking. The owners were very friendly and helpful as well as all the staff. The breakfast were super with freshly baked croissants. We also had... More

Unfortunately we did not get to stay here. We had a reservation but it seemed to have gotten lost. :-( After several minutes of conversation they secured us a room at another hotel but this would have been very difficult for us to manage if we were not traveling with our Italian speaking family. From what I saw, the lobby... More

This is a lovely place in a quite sleepy little village, with a lovely pool and grounds. We had a three bedroomed suite and stayed for two weeks. There are five of us, three teenagers and two adults. But they need to make some improvements - if they did this place would be perfect. We arrived after having been up... More

We stayed at Villa della Porta early August for 4 nights during our family road trip to South Italy. Our family of 5 (me and my wife and 3 boys of 16, 14 and 5 yo) had an excellent suite with separated rooms between the marital double and the 3 single beds, plenty of space inside and outside. The garden... More

I rarely feel the need to review a property. I can't help myself when it comes to Villa Della Porta. Quiet, beautiful and amazing. Just the real italian experience you have been looking for. Family run, views and property are spectacular, incredibly clean, service is exceptional, internet is great, and the food is actually wonderful as well. Stayed one more... More

Very large and clean rooms, even if a bit stark, comfortable beds, staff all pleasant & helpful. Fabulous views from nearly everywhere. Conveniently located for tours of the amalfi coast and naples, without the bustle of the cities. Next time we'll bring the extended family! Be sure and ask for the tour of the cellar!
