Villa Guisso is one of those places that you will remember for a lifetime. It is over 400 years old with an amazing history and has been lovingly restored. We used it as a base to explore Sorrento, Pompeii, Positano and Amalfi and should we ever be back in the area we would not stay anywhere else. Erminia really is... More

Lovely building, lovely staff and wonderful owner. The lady that runs this place is very helpful and always willing to help with places to see or things to do. When booking makes sure you stay in the main house, we booked the monks cottages thinking they would be full of interest which they are not, just rooms but there are... More

Please note: choice of car is essential to your enjoyment of Astapiana. The approach is VERY narrow so go for a Cinquecento or similar. If you do this, you will have a happy stay and not incur any excess damage charges! Astapiana is a 16th century building with history oozing from its pores. It has been in the Giusso family... More

A treacherous drive up the mountain, especially in a Mercedes E Class estate (hire something much smaller if possible), but well worth the effort. A magical location with stunning views and a fascinating history. Be sure to have the guided tour of the house. Extremely warm welcome and hospitality throughout our stay. Food was delicious - all home made from... More

We are in love with the owner of this tranquil bed and breakfast. Erminia, our host, met us at the car offering traditional Italian snacks, as we had travelled a few hours to reach the Villa. She also gave us a tour of this historic site, which was owned by the monks, Napoleon, and finally Erminia's ancestor - the Duke... More

We had a wonderful two night stay at Villa Guisso in July with our 16 and 18 year old sons. The view, history, walking trails, accommodation, and meals made our stay one of the highlights of our trip to Italy. Make sure to take advantage of visiting the family museum and chapel which have been lovingly preserved. We were lucky... More

Little to add to all the other positive reviews but to agree! The restoration is a labour of love, the location is stunning and the food was delicious. We stayed in the main house which was fascinating complete with the original 18th century furnishings in some places - almost exactly as it was. The welcome from Giovanna was lovely, to be... More

We have just returned from a truly wonderful four night stay at Villa Guisso with our family of 3 teenagers (13, 15 and 17). The welcome from Erminia could not have been more heartfelt and we were served chilled sparkling wine and freshly made pizza margherita and fruit juice for the children on the terrace with a view of the... We had a 4 night short break at Astapiana - what a beautiful place! Huge family suite (decorated in baroque italian style furniture) for 4 of us with ensuite - great value for money. Hearty breakfast every morning and room cleaned every day. Perfect location for Amalfi, Pompeii, Herculaneum and Vesuvius. Very welcoming hosts who recommended some great local restaurants... More

We loved staying at Villa Guisso. Erminia was a perfect host. She loved sharing stories of the place and made it come alive. She made you feel so welcome. The homemade food and the pizza was the best. We highly recommend Villa Guisso
