I stayed at the Plaza e De Russie for the third time. Stayed with my sister and my 12 yr old daughter. My daughter and I love staying here as the location is very convenient to the beach and shopping and the fantastic gelato. Our room when we walked in was set up with one queen bed...not what I imagined.... More

Having read tripadvisor reviews about the noise, the advice was NOT to have a room overlooking the sea. So I booked a room over the courtyard. On arrival the receptionist said I was upgraded to a sea room. I said I booked one over the courtyard, but they were all full, hence my so-called upgrade. Since I went to the... More

What a lovely hotel. Not particulary cheap for a "beach resort" hotel but then nothing is particularly cheap these days! The hotel was expectionally clean and the staff couldn't do enough for you. Even the cleaners gave you a jolly "buongiorno" in the morning! There is a small bar but huge lounge area which was very grand. The restaurant/breakfast room... More

The review is based on my 6 stays in this hotel. Location is in the heart of the town, view from restaurant (sea!) is quite exceptional, breakfast selection standard, but satisfactory.Wine selection in the restaurant - very extensive. Bar in the lobby charming, but quite dead, perharps it is better during the high season. Check your room before sign off the check in card,as some... More

This place is definitely old........But has been tastefully redone and modernized over the years. I was there in October, i guess October is no longer "season" for this area, things were very quiet. As you can see from the photos, the hotel is a classic. Room was kinda small, bed was not very comfy.....kinda hard, very flat pillows, sheets were... More

We stayed at this Hotel for 10 days as a holiday in September 2013. It is not 4* standard. The room was small and plain, the bathroom small. The hairdryer was useless. The towels were thin. No robes provided. If you stay in a room at the front with a sea view, expect to get NO sleep. The promenade is... More

I have stayed in this grand old hotel many time for business, the rooms are on the small side, but this is typical in Italy. The staff is excellent, food is great, and they keep the hotel spotless. I have no compliants and will go back...

Viareggio has a real old world charm about it and this hotel, being the oldest is a lovely place to stay. It isn't perfect by modern standards, our room was smaller than I had anticipated and though nice was not luxurious, but it was comfortable enough. We were fortunate in having a sea view - nice also to look out... More

The rooms are very small and plainly furnished. The noise from the road is awful. The 'balcony' is no more than a railing in front of the window, which overlooks a noisy road. The public swimming pool, which hotel guests can use, is across the road and through a passageway. The 'sea view" is over the top of the shops,... More

Would probably urge a little caution, we were not aware that this hotel was right in the centre, so if you are looking for peace and quiet, this is not the place as the town does not go to sleep early. But it is not loud music, disco, bars etc, just general street noise. Despite that the Hotel is very... More
