Terrible double room with a window opening to some black shaft emitting kind of industrial noise. It's tiny even for single use. Single room (even smaller, of course, but you expect it) has a standard wall air conditioner mounted BENEATH a window, so that cool air blows only on the floor area. Its stuffy. If you open the window at night,... More

The room is clean but the bathroom small and need some refurbishing. The personnel is kind and professional. They should accept all credit cards but Diners was not passing when tried to use.Something was wrong with the hotel card system. The elevators are old but working but handles and railings are dirty and need some cleaning. No parking place. Below standard for three stars.

The hotel hall and breakfast room have a very beautiful decoration with antique pieces everywhere. The breakfast is the best breakfast I've ever had in Italy. It is rich and delicious. The hotel is very near to the sandy beach of Viareggio. The reception gives a discount card to Beach Guido, which is near the hotel. 2 sunbeds + 1... More

When we arrived at the room we had no toiletry and it was a very dirty room. Next morning to discover that our shower is not working, we complained and they said that they cannot do anything about it. So we paid 2 $ on the beach to shower. The only great thing about the hotel was the breakfast. Again... More

I want to give a heads-up here. We had a great trip, but that was more in spite of this hotel than because of it. It reminds me of a cheap hostel, and if that is OK with you, go ahead but you can find corresponding stays much cheaper elsewhere. On the positive side, this is an old hotel and... More

We spent 3 nights here in May. In summary: it's great value for money. Location is just perfect. Staff is very very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is very nice too. Yes, rooms are not new, but everythig is clean and tidy ...and in Viareggio you don't sit hours in your room, do you?! We liked it a lot.

The hotel is nicely situated, close to beach and close to everything. But, in our rooom, the tv didn't work, neither the fridge. The room smelled of chlorine... The shower had little hot water, the beds are two uneven single beds pushed together. And all in all not a great room. Staff is friendly and helped to solve some of... More

Hotel Marchionni is a pleasant seaside hotel from the art deco era located on the northern edge of Viareggio. Located on Piazza Puccini 1/2 block from the strolling area along the beach, it is a 5 minute (10 Euro) taxi ride from the main station. (Ask for the 10 Euro price to Piazza Puccini from the taxi drivers). The hotel... More

We were here for only a night but wish we had planned for more. Our room was on the front of the hotel overlooking the piazza and down to the waterfront. The hotel is a two minute walk from the beach and the "boardwalk" area. We had a balcony which was great for watching the sunset. The bathroom was a... More

Hotel Marchionni is situated just behind an extremely grand and expensive hotel (the big one in teh photo) on the Viareggio seafront. It is an art deco style building, its glory fading a little, but clean, comfortable and welcoming. The staff were excellent, the buffet breakfast fresh and with a very wide range of choices (including a small amount of... More
