Clean and well run hotel. Very secure car park (around corner from hotel). Staff very helpful. Room clean. Food good. Looks across lake and near some great restaurants. Would recommend as a functional and straightforward place to stay.

Hotel Belvedere is located in Pallanza(Verbania) opposite the boat station. This is a basic 4 stars hotel but in good condition, clean, with very nice staff, good breakfast, excellent location and reasonable prices. Pallanza, part of Verbania, has beautiful views, is much more quite and "authentic" than Stresa and less expensive.

Very pleasant stay with my family during summer vacations. Excellent location. Availability of rooms convenient for disabled persons. The staff is Professional and helpful. However, the breakfast could be improved.

We were welcomed here and given a choice of rooms. The room was basic and bathroom was nice with extras. Unfortunately, the WiFi was intermittent but as breakfast was a good selection we could forgive the poor WiFi. Also, as we were on a motorbike we appreciated the underground parking during the thunder storm! At €80 a night it was... More

We were a little skeptical of this place because the reviews are so divergent. But many of the complaints here are nothing like our experience. The AC was fine. The room was quiet enough, considering it is next to a busy street and across from the ferry terminal (you can hear announcements from the boat, but we found this charming)... More

The staff here was really, really helpful in finding restaurants and things to do. Our room was fine and the breakfast was typical European (only cold, hard boiled eggs). We really liked Pallanza and Lago Maggiore much better than Lake Como and Bellagio. The later was jammed packed with tourists, elbo to elbo, and one tourist shop after another. Pallanza,... More

Centrally located, in a rather calm spot of Verbania region, right in front of the boat terminal to the lake islands, old times charm but comfortable. Not much to do or see around but close to Stresa by boat and Intra by car. Very spacious rooms and bathroom Very bright and airy room, good matresses but bad pillows, no air... More

We stayed at this hotel in July 2013. It has a beautiful location, right in front of Lago Maggiore and the ferry terminal. However the hotel is old and not that clean nor pretty. Our bathroom was run down, neon light was blinking and barely any pressure in the shower. Breakfast was very ordinary and it took forever just to... More

Stayed in the San Gottardo. Great location just opposite the ferry mooring. Reception very friendly and helpful with advice about parking. Our room was great with a fantastic view over the lake. Everything was clean and others have noted the AC did not work - though I think in retrospect this is because the state sets a minimum temperature level... More

This hotel must have been truly beautiful during its prime. It is a majestic building that sits on the shore of Lago Maggiore and is conveniently located within walking distance to several cafes and restaurants. The entire hotel was refurbished in 2005, but it appears not much has been done since then for maintenance and upkeep as it is currently... More
