This grand old hotel dominates the little lakeside village of Pallanza. It has been well renovated and is in excellent condition. Staff were welcoming and always helpful - but see note re dining service. Good sized bedroom - safe, TV, bathroom with shower in the standard rooms which are at the back of the hotel - however since the road... More

This hotel is in a great location and is magnificently presented. The entry, reception area and stair case is truly grand. The rooms are very nice, but quiet compact, not a lot of spare room in the bedroom nor the bathroom. The breakfast is plentiful, with a large range of items presented and the dinning room has splendid views over... More

We arrived on a Sunday afternoon, received a warm welcome. Check in was smooth and simple, and we were soon on our way to our rooms. The check in girl walked us to our rooms, which were lovely. We were upgraded, and our rooms had a living area with stairs leading to the bedroom and bathroom area. The rooms was... More

Lovely location by the lake, quiet and intimate. We received a free upgrade to a Lake View Room. Breakfasts were simple but good. Sprawling grounds give space while landscaping provided intimacy. The rooms are decorated in a very classical style so for those who want something more modern, this may be a bit 'heavy' in feel. Free parking b the... More

I have been there for a wedding last year and I spent a full day there at summer end. I tell you that I was very lucky because the day was splendid and the lake view from the garden is astonishing -boy, with a champagne glass, in a wedding with such a view I can assure that it was a... More

The Majestic reflects the fading and slightly yellowing old world charm of town in which it sits. From the cobbled town square, Lake front promenade and pleasure boats ploughing back and forth across the lake, the shadows of the Victorian and Edwardian visitors are almost tangible. Nowadays it seems to be coach loads of greying heads and leisure suits which... More

Very beautiful Hotel, a real old grand Hotel. Restaurant very good and waiters very caring. Garden and beach and Pool area beautiful. Rooms extremely small. and not all have a nice view. The Hotel seemed very empty when we stayed there for 1 night on a road trip. However, we felt like we had been given the smallest room possible.... More

I stayed a weekend in Gran Majestic for a wedding that happened in the hotel. The service was very good, the accommodations very comfortable, and the food was incredible. Especially the home-made ice cream. A very quiet and relaxing place to stay. And last but not least, the view to the lake: splendid.

I remain very conflicted in my comments on this property. To be honest I am a modernist however the old grand hotels do interest me as they possess rich history. The good: We had a large jr suite overlooking the lake. There were two terraces and a window in between with a desk looking out to the lake. Since I... More

Part of the Luxury Small Hotels of the World group, this hotel has a Classic Elegance in a relaxed setting. We had purchased 3 days from a charity and received a warm welcome from the desk staff and were shown to our room which we immediately loved. We were on the top floor overlooking Lake Maggiore and there is beautiful... More
