We spent three nights here in June and loved it for it's old world style, the gorgeous views and the convenient location. In addition, the staff were VERY helpful, answered many questions, helped us with LOTS of luggage (four women traveling for weeks!) and spoke excellent English. The rooms we had were not large, but they all had views of... More

We spent 2 nights in this hotel which overlooks the lake. It is very comfortable and charming. The hotel is quiet and has some amenities. We didn't use the swimming due to lack of time but it looked great. Food at the hotel was good without it being spectacular as was the case with one of the nearby restaurants. Breakfast... More

The hotel was excellent, the food was brilliant, where it is situated could not be better. Bu!!! We complained 4 times that our air conditioning was not working and they never fixed it. They also did not offer another room. It's not cheap so you expect to get what you paid for!

My wife and I spent a long weekend at the hotel, on the 2nd floor with a huge suite of rooms and a balcony overlooking the lake. All very comfortable and delightful. We had dinner at the hotel, but that was mediocre - better restaurants are nearby. The Reception staff were exemplary. The Italian lakes do need to reinvent themselves... More

A very grand hotel, fantastic views and simply stunning building. Highly recommend a lake view that treats you of sights if the Swiss Alps. The town centre is a pleasant 7-10min stroll, with Borris-bike style bikes available by the ferry if you want to explore further. The swimming pool is fantastic and run by a very friendly chap who made... More

Grand old hotel with lots of character and fantastic views across Lago Maggiore. Our room was quite nice however despite booking double room it was made up with 2 single beds. This was rectified when we complained. There was a safe in the cupboard however it was not fixed so could easily be picked up and removed is anyone wished... More

We loved our stay in this beautiful traditional hotel. Our room was airy, light and comfortable. The hotel is beautiful, with a lovely mezzanine on all floors around the central lobby space, accessed by both lift and a wide, gracious staircase. Reception staff always helpful; restaurant staff lovely and food good. The grounds are spacious and beautiful; and the hotel... More

This grand old hotel dominates the little lakeside village of Pallanza. It has been well renovated and is in excellent condition. Staff were welcoming and always helpful - but see note re dining service. Good sized bedroom - safe, TV, bathroom with shower in the standard rooms which are at the back of the hotel - however since the road... More

This hotel is in a great location and is magnificently presented. The entry, reception area and stair case is truly grand. The rooms are very nice, but quiet compact, not a lot of spare room in the bedroom nor the bathroom. The breakfast is plentiful, with a large range of items presented and the dinning room has splendid views over... More
