We visited Hotel Ancora for two nights at the end of October and enjoyed our stay very much. The hotel is in a great position and we had a wonderful view from our room. The hotel has been modernised inside and has lots of great touches. The bed was comfortable, although the pillows could have been better I thought. The... More

We stayed in the Hotel because of a wedding. The check-in was friendly but less informative. However nothing to complain about. The room itself was not worth the money. However this is Italy in general. Especially in the more touristic areas. You pay a high rate for an average service and average rooms. It was clean but old and some... More

Having stayed one night at Hotel Ancora, we would definitely come back! The hotel has an excellent location with an amazing view to the lake. The room we stayed at had a warm and pleasant ambience, and it was functionally very well furnished. The lady at the reception was really friendly and service minded, making a good check-in and check-out... More

Trying to find a good room in Verbania was a bit tricky. I booked two rooms here and they were both extremely nice. The hotel was super friendly and clean, but the best part was the views from the rooms and the breakfasts. The breakfasts were the best part. I'd go back again just for their breakfasts. Everything the served... More

I cannot fault the hotel itself, it is well run, very clean and modern and most of the staff are polite and friendly, although the greeting we received from one of the receptionists on our arrival was as cold as ice. We soon learnt to save our questions for the other receptionist, who was kind and helpful. The breakfast was... More

Arriving over the wintery heights of the Simplon pass, Verbania, on the northern edge of Lake Maggiore spread before us green and lush and warm. Hotel Ancora is set about five miles east of the main highway continuing south to Milan; by the tourist ferry dock and near to the antique court-yards and cobbled alleys of the town. With my... The hotel was very nicely designed throughout. Both the bedroom and bathroom furnishings were excellent. The breakfast choice was very good. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The hotel is situated right in the middle of the town and rooms at the front overlook the lake. What more could you want? Oh yes, it also accepts dogs.

This is a great traditional hotel centrally located on the waterfront opposite the ferry terminal and close to shops and restaurants. Our en-suite room was modern, clean, quiet, spacious and comfortable. It had all the amenities you needed. The staff were helpful and accommodating. The breakfast was great with lots of choice of fresh food. The room had a great... More

From start to finish we loved this hotel! First off, how can you beat the view!!?? We rented a Junior Suite with a terrace and lake view - WOW! The room was spacious and had a separate sitting area from the bedroom - perfect! It had two large french-doors that opened onto a lovely terrace overlooking the main street and... More

Employees took much effort into service: after every stay in room, equal night, morning or afternoon, each room is checked and if necessary for example the bed is made again. We were very surprised. Breakfast is very simple - the scrabled and the boiled eggs could have been more warm, but what we were really missing, were fresh vegetables. Finally... More
